Saying goodbye to being basic and daring to be different.

It’s always great to have daytime date with your girlfriends, but sometimes it’s nice to switch things up from the typical Sunday Caesars, bennys at brunch, or a shopping spree at the mall. Instead of being basic, we’ve compiled a list of 15 new date ideas for you to do with your girlfriends. Last week, we featured part one of two and now this is part two. So whether you decide to bowl with beers, get your swing on, or hit new heights on the trampoline, we guarantee that you’ll have a great time and give others serious #SQUADGOALS.

1. BOWLING… AND BEER.

Spend your Saturday or Sunday afternoon playing with big balls. Get your mind out of the gutter — we’re talking about bowling. Book your squad a couple lanes at National on 10th and get ready for everyone’s competitive claws to come out. At National Bowl you get all the fun of bowling (the classic shoes included) without the screaming kids, horrible music and dated décor. National Bowl is open on the weekends from 11 a.m. to close everyday and each lane costs $40 per hour, making it an affordable weekend activity. Plus, you can have all the craft beer you could ever ask for— so spare yourself any excuses, and show everyone how you and your squad roll.

2. BOUNCE, BOUNCE, BOUNCE, BOUNCE, BOUNCE.

Remember when you were a kid and trampolines were all kinds of fun? Well just because you are no longer a child, doesn’t mean you can no longer enjoy double bouncing your friends and catching some wicked air. In fact, YYC is home to some pretty rad trampoline parks like the Flying Squirrel that would put your backyard childhood fun to shame. We’re talking about over 40,000 square feet of interlocking trampolines, so you can do as many backflips as you please. Flying Squirrel also has dodge ball courts, dunk courts, a ninja course and a laser maze—so we highly doubt you’ll be bored. Flying Squirrel is open Sunday-Thursday 10 a.m- 10 p.m. and is open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. At only $20 an hour, this activity will definitely have you bouncing back for more.

3. HIKE NEW HEIGHTS

Living in YYC definitely has its perks, especially having Banff, Canmore and Kananaskis in our own backyard. Rather than drinking a pumpkin spiced latte and liking pictures of other people’s adventures on Instagram, it’s time to go out and take your own gram-worthy snaps with your squad. There are so many hiking trails outside and inside the city that you don’t need to be an experienced hiker to check out the view. We recommend hitting up the Grassi Lakes hiking trail just outside of Canmore. You’ll get the chance to see the mountains, trees, crystal clear turquoise blue lakes and a stunning waterfall. After your hike, you and your girlfriends can grab some refreshing beer or smooth tasting wine in Canmore. After all, hiking counts as cardio right?

4. FIRE IT UP

If painting a Picasso isn’t your jam, but you want to unleash your inner artist, you and your girlfriends should consider going to a Color Me Mine pottery studio. At Color Me Mine, you get to choose a ceramic piece, paint it, fire it up and take it home. So whether you make yourself a new go-to coffee mug or doggie dish for your furry friend, the choice is completely up to you. With adult classes available almost every day of the week and locations all over the city, Color Me Mine makes it easy for you and your girlfriends to be creative cats whenever you like.

5. BE A DRAMA QUEEN

Dinner and a movie? We’ve all been there and done that. Why not instead try something different like catching a play at Theatre Calgary. Theatre Calgary presents a variety of performances throughout the year that are sure to entertain you and your girlfriends like The Crucible, A Christmas Carol and The Little Prince. Tickets range in price from $45-$107, all depending on where you choose to sit. Every Saturday, there is a 2 p.m. matinee, which can easily be followed up with dinner and drinks on Stephen Avenue.

6. GET YOUR SWING ON

Just because summer is over, it doesn’t mean that you and your girlfriends can’t perfect your golf game in the meantime. EQ Calgary Golf Dome has an indoor driving range that allows you to get your swing on, no matter the weather. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. If you’ve nailed down your swing, but your putting game is weak don’t get teed off because you can always practice on its 675 feet practice range. By the time next summer rolls around, your game will be on par. Tiger, you better watch your back.

7. DROP IT LIKE IT’S HOT

Are you and your girlfriends in need of some major R&R? If the answer is yes, you should head up to Banff and drop it like it’s hot at the Banff Upper Hot Springs. Not only will you all get the chance to relax, you’ll also get to soak up the incredible mountain views. And the best part is that it is an activity that won’t have you breaking the bank because it only costs $7.50 per person. We call that a steal of a deal.
