The Best October Dates

Fall - when you can finally stop shaving your legs. Unless it's date night.

Date ideas for your fall bucket list. Act fast, the frost is coming.

Autumn is arguably the most beautiful time of year. Nothing says it better than this:

“This strangely still pause between summer and autumn, greenery and gold, and the heat and rising wind that is once again readying itself to rush it all away in a climatic symphony of color and scent is, in my opinion, one of the best parts about living on earth” – Victoria Erickson

If that doesn’t make you want to run outside and play in the leaves, I don’t know what will.

Autumn is also awesome because it’s finally sweater weather again. Which means all of the carbs and none of the skin baring short shorts of summer. Girls, you can finally stop shaving your legs every morning, unless of course it’s date night. Which is what we’re talking about today.

I have for you some of the coziest autumn date ideas to make your October the best one yet.

1.  Fall For East Village

Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 11:00-6:00

With food trucks, local bands, a pumpkin patch, and a giant leaf pit, all in the beauty of the newly restored St. Patricks Island, EV is calling it the ‘ultimate autumn celebration.’ Saturday is supposed to be beautiful, so grab your date, throw on a sweater, and come hungry!

2. Have a fall picnic in Edworthy Park.

Pack a picnic basket, grab yourselves each a PSL, and drive down to the beautiful Edworthy Park (5050 Spruce Drive SW) along the Bow River. There’s tons of parking close to the pathways so after your picnic, drop off your basket and take a stroll. Those leaves fall quickly and the frost is on it’s way so don’t put this off for too long.

3. Sunset Date at Crescent Heights

Nothing beats the view of our glittering downtown skyline at McHugh Bluff. With the foliage of Prince’s Island Park beneath you coupled with the setting sun, get ready for some serious romantic feels.

Incase you haven't been on Pinterest lately, Halloween is around the corner.  Incase you haven’t been on Pinterest lately, Halloween is around the corner.

4. Go Halloween Costume Shopping.

Your man might hate shopping every other time of the year, but this will be different. Likely his inner child will come out as soon as he tries on his first Batman mask. And if he’s really into it, brainstorm beforehand for unique couple costume ideas.

5. Make Out Session in the Corn Maze

Just kidding. Or am I?

You have three more weekends to get out and enjoy the Autumn Pumpkin Festival which includes a Fun Farm, Petting Zoo, and Corn Maze. This is an award-winning family friendly event so keep it classy. Check out www.calgarycornmaze.com/pumpkin-patch for details.

There you have it. Five date ideas that will ensure you make the most of the season. I will leave you with one last cheesy autumn quote:
