Holiday makeup made easy.

There’s a lot of holiday parties coming up. If you can’t afford to go get your makeup done every Friday and Saturday night for the next month (who can!?), no worries.

It’s that time of year where we find ourselves scrambling to figure out what makeup and outfits we are going to wear to the endless holiday parties and soirees, but fear not because this post will help you with half of the scrambling woes! Here a few simple steps and tricks to help you rock your holiday makeup.

After applying your foundation/powder base, apply your contour power along the bottom line of the cheekbone — make a fishy face to find this. I recommend the Kat Von D Contour Palette — it covers your contour AND setting powder needs all in one — but a matte bronzer will also work!

Apply a nude coloured blush to the apples of the cheeks. The Burberry Earthy Glow blush is my favourite to pair with a red lip.

Becca Champagne Pop Highlighter. Becca Champagne Pop Highlighter.

Amp up the glow by highlighting the tops of the cheekbones and the cupid’s bow. The Becca Champagne Pop highlighter is perfect for the holidays.

Blend a light brown eye shadow into the crease with a fluffy brush. The Urban Decay Naked Basics is the perfect palette for this eye look!

Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick in Rose Gold. Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick in Rose Gold.

Add glow to the eye look with a cream eyeshadow on the eyelid. The Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick in Rose Gold is what cream eye shadow dreams are made of.

Use an eyeliner brush to apply a darker brown or black shadow to the lash line and wing it out at the tip to create a faux liner look. This will have a more subtle smokey effect than a liquid liner.

Pop on a pair of your favourite lashes to complete the eye look with a bang, or just stick to mascara if lashes aren’t your thing!

Apply your favourite red lip to complete this look. My go-to lipstick or a touch-up-free night is the Sephora Cream Lip Stain #01 — this lipstick won’t budge if you happen to find yourself underneath the mistletoe!

No need for lip liner — use your concealer and a small brush to outline the lip for a perfect edge AND to prevent the lipstick from bleeding.
