Halloween is definitely one of the most fun holidays of the year. Indulging in candy, cuddling up with bae watching scary movies, and dressing up in some of the best costumes.. What could be better? This year, Calgary’s Halloween scene is packed with tons of dope activities for you to enjoy. No matter how you prefer to spend your holiday, we know one of these events below will make your Halloween as memorable as it should be.

Spend an evening enjoying ghostly entertainment with your date where a tour guide will walk you through some of Calgary’s spookiest spots. The Inglewood Ghost Tour will lead you through Calgary’s most haunted neighbourhood, and you’ll learn about other resident ghosts in the Downtown and Kensington walks.

Don’t miss  the Medium / Psychic walk in Banff on October 23rd or The Fright Night Festival and the Sinister Sideshow on October 29th.

2. Screamfest

Welcome back Screamfest to YYC this October. Walk through haunted houses, try your luck at Halloween themed carnival games, and be prepared for a fright from their array of creepy entertainment.  

They’ve got a few new attractions this year including Adults Only Night on Thursday October 27th where there will be adult entertainment and a site wide liquor license in place. Leave the kids at home, no one under 18 will be allowed in. Be sure to check out the Zombie Hunter (a shooting gallery style game featuring zombie props AND moving targets), The Trapeze of Death Ropes Course, Coffin Ride (not for the faint of heart – experience being buried alive), and eight escape rooms.

5. Azuridge Estate Haunted Hotel

From October 27th to 31st, Azuridge is transforming into a “haunted hotel.” They’ll be hosting a series of Halloween-themed events at the estate, including Medieval Ghost Battles, Flashlight Forest Trails, a real-life game of Clue, and trick-or-treating on Oct. 31 for the little ones.

On October 29th and 30th, watch in amazement as the East Village Neighbourhood Association spooks up East Village with Hallow’s Eve in the Village: Godric’s Hollow. There will be tricks and treats from the wizarding world, along with a collective tent of artisan vendors, food trucks, and a beer garden. Admission is $5 and only 5000 entries are guaranteed each day of the event, so make sure you get down there early.

16. Kensington Halloween Pub Crawl

Halloween hits Kensington on October 29th. Join the lively neighbourhood from 2:00pm ‘til late and explore some of Kensington’s staple restaurants and pubs for a Halloween drink. Expect to see twelve local favourites including Oak Tree Tavern, Kensington Pub, ContainR Bar, Hayden Block Smoke & Whiskey, and more.
