The Stay At Home Date

Let’s be honest, with the weather getting colder and the days getting shorter, sometimes you just want to stay in and snuggle up with your sweetie after a long work day. Here are some ideas to make it fire so you don’t end up falling asleep in your sweatpants together at 9pm. Although that sounds great too.

ORDER IN:

Take the night off together and order in some diner. Nothing says stay-at-home-date like take-out, wine, and a sofa. There are so many more delivery options than pizza now that services like, Skip The Dishes are around, so take advantage and put your feet up together.

MAKE A MEAL TOGETHER:

Roll up your sleeves and get chopping together. Find a recipe or get creative while you get close in the kitchen and make a meal together. Keep the wine flowing and enjoy the fruits of your labour with great conversation on the side.

MAKE SOME CLASSIC COCKTAILS TOGETHER:

Nothing goes together like a date and a cocktail. Shake up the evening and try these classic cocktail recipes from Star of Bombay for your next stay-at-home-date.

Star of Bombay & Tonic:
1 part Star of Bombay
2 Parts Premium Tonic Water
One-Inch Cubed Ice
Orange Peel
Rocks Glass

Add ingredients over ice into a rocks glass. Stir gently not to exhaust carbonation of tonic water. Express oils from the orange peel at a 45-degree angle toward glass in order to keep volatile oil and aroma notes over the more bitter undesirable ones.

Constellation:
1 part Star of Bombay
0.5 Parts Fresh Lemon Juice
0.5 Parts Tea Syrup
1 Teaspoon St. Germain
2 Parts Prosecco
Lavender Garnish
Champagne Flute

Shake the gin, lemon juice, tea syrup and St. Germain with ice and fine-strain (syrup can be prepared in advance and must be served chilled.) Taking chilled champagne flute, pour into the gin mix. Add the prosecco over a bar spoon or by tilting the glass. Garnish with lavender.

50/50 Martini:
1.5 Parts Star of Bombay
1.5 Parts Martini Dry Vermouth
2 Dashes Orange Bitters
Orange Peel
Chilled Coup Glass

Stir ingredients into an ice-filled mixing glass. Fine-strain the liquid into a chilled coupe glass in a circular motion from the outside of the glass towards its centre. Garnish with orange peel.

Galaxy Espresso Negroni:
1 Part Star of Bombay
1 Part Martini Rosso
1 Part Campari
0.5 Parts Coffee
Orange Wheel and Coffee Bean
Chilled Coupe Glass

Stir ingredients into an ice-filled mixing glass. Fine-strain the liquid into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with the orange wheel and coffee bean.
