Valentine’s Day is not just about flowers, chocolate and love songs anymore. That’s why most couples these days are actually getting stressed over planning their Valentine’s Day date than actually being excited to go on a romantic date. From the outfits to wear, to the perfect gift ideas, choosing one that’ll impress your date can be a really daunting task.

Lucky for you, deciding on the perfect place to dine and hang out for that special night won’t have to be so stressful anymore, as we’ve put together a list of great places to go to for your Valentine’s Day date.

Buffalo Mountain Lodge

The Buffalo Mountain Lodge is featuring a special menu for everyone on Valentine’s Day. At $61 per person(plus grat and tax) , this special Valentine’s Day menu will serve three courses that feature pan seared salmon with smoked tomato relish, citrus saffron broth, scallop and crab dumplings and baby bok choy. If that didn’t make you drool, it’s also serving braised lamb shank with fig jam, sweet potato ricotta gnocchi, ginger spaghetti squash and maple shallot, which is sure to satisfy your tastebuds. Plus, it’s a trip to the mountains and mountain air is extra romantic this time of year.

Deer Lodge and Emerald Lake Lodge

Get ready to grab the sweetest deals that Deer Lodge and Emerald Lake lodge will be offering throughout the Valentine’s Day weekend. You can hit up the slopes, or you can snuggle up in your room with letting the fire and your loved one keep you warm.

The Lake House

Indulge yourself with a four-course Chef’s menu that features The Lake House’s signature Rocky Mountain Cuisineon February 14th for $75 per person plus an optional wine pairing for $50 per person. Let’s be real: Wine is always a good idea.

Divino

Dine over at Divino and enjoy its bistro style a la carte menu that also comes with features by Chef John Donovan. Diving is one of our favourite romantic destinations any day, so they will be pulling out all the stops for this day of love.

Cilantro

Another good choice for an a la carte menu is Cilantro as it is offering a full four-course menu on Valentine’s Day for $65  and can be ordered individually.

Bar C

For only $50 per person, you’ll get to indulge yourselves in Bar C’s full a la carte menu exclusively put together for this very special day for lovers. The Valentine’s Day feature menu will be available from February 12 to 14.

Le Cirque de la Nuit

Witness “love” from both its physical and psychological perspectives at Le Cirque de la Nuit’s adults only pre-Valentine’s Day event on February 13th.  Make your Valentine’s date one for the books with Le Cirque de la Nuit’s blend of carefully crafted musical entertainment and high flying theatrical performances. A show like this is sure to take your love to new heights.

Azuridge Estates

The breathtaking Azuridge Estate Hotel definitely knows how it’s done with its special Valentine’s Day celebration. You can wine and dine with its oyster bar and jazz trio for dinner, or relax together with its couple’s massage. Umm, yes please. This Valentine’s date is sure to be one for the books since your stay at the hotel will include a heavenly breakfast, a luxurious spa experience, complimentary beverages and more.

Cuisine et Chateau: Chocolate for Lovers [Everything Chocolate]

Thanks to Cuisine et Chateau you can have all the chocolate you could desire this Valentine’s Day. You can master the art of making chocolate mousse, truffles, ganache, and sauces at the Chocolate for Lovers [Everything Chocolate] hands-on class. At $119 per person, you learn how chocolate is grown and made, you get to try your hand at tempering (a professional technique used for setting), and you get to taste exquisite chocolates from around the world. Classes will be held on Saturday Feb. 13 and on Sunday Feb. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include a recipe booklet, a light meal, and a chocolate cake to take home. Warning: a chocolate coma may occur.

Cuisine et Chateau:  L’Amour! A Special Romantic French Dinner

You can never go wrong with a romantic dinner date, especially when you are served French cuisines that were inspired by love, and that’s exactly what Cuisine et Chateau offers with its L’Amour! A Valentine’s Day special four-course dinner with wine pairings to be prepared for guests on Sunday Feb. 14, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The cost for this dinner is $98 (plus tax) per person. The French are known for being experts in the language of love and chances are after this date you’ll be fluent in the language too.

Fiasco Gelato

Spending Valentine’s Day with your sweetie, creating your own gelato flavors at Fiasco Gelato is definitely one experience both of you will never forget, and neither will your stomach. Not to mention there’s going to be champagne and a whole lot of other Valentine’s-themed ingredients for the evening of love – all for $250 (1 Ticket per Couple).

Ollia Macarons and Tea

Thinking of giving your special someone macarons on your date? We’ve got a better idea. How about making the macaroons yourself? Ollia Macarons is having a macaron making class on February 21 and 22. At only $100 (+tax) per person, you’ll get to learn about the history of the delicious French macarons. You’ll also learn how to proper macaronage, get a few tips and tricks in making the perfect shell and get to create your own flavours. Not only do you get to snack on yummy macarons and tea throughout the two to three hour class, you also get to take a box of macarons home for yourself…and maybe your date if he or she is lucky. Trade up your dinner reservations and pick up a paintbrush. We’re all about the paint date and there are a few great spots in town we’d recommend to flex your creative muscle.

Vin Gogh Paint and Sip Studio

Vin Gogh is offering paint sessions during the afternoon and evening on Valentine’s Day. The afternoon session includes coffee and tea and the evening session includes painting, a buffet dinner and other goodies. Book a spot here.

As Kensington’s newest resident, this paint studio is calling all creatives in for a paint session that is all about quality time with your date, your BFF or your mom.

If you’re into some laidback chillin’ with your sweetie, just knocking back beer bottles, and pigging out on good food, then head on over to National on 10th as there’ll be DJs on the main floor and in the Bowling Alley starting at 10:00 pm!
