Whether you’re looking for fresh seasonal produce or a fun event, we’ve curated a list of our favourite farms to visit this season.

Sugar Moon Farm offers hand-crafted maple syrup, educational and cultural experiences, maple-inspired comfort food, and over 30 km of wilderness hiking trails to explore! 

We recommend starting off your date with a maple-infused brunch at the restaurant, which is made with the best local and seasonal ingredients. Then, explore the Rogart Mountain Trail – a 6.2 km rugged and steep loop. Finally, stop by the shop to pick up some of your favourite maple products and merchandise. We love this Brunch for Two Box!

Noggins Corner Farm Market is a staple for fall farm dates in Nova Scotia! You and your date can enjoy a corn maze, u-pick apples and pumpkins, and a haunted house until October 30th. 

Admission to the Corn Maze is $12 (free for children 4 years old or younger) and the cost for u-pick apples range from $8-$22 depending on the size of the bag (small, medium, and large bags available).

Spurr Brothers Farm Market is a fifth generation, family-run business located in the Annapolis Valley. They offer a variety of local goods in their market including fresh fruits and veggies, preserves, and donuts. They also serve hard cider at their taproom!

  • Market Hours: Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday – Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Taproom & Takeout: Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday – Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

That Dutchman’s Cheese Farm is Nova Scotia’s original artisan cheesemaker, specializing in delicious farmstead cheeses. A highlight of the farm is their Animal & Nature Park – a 1 hour picturesque walk through the woods to view the sweetest animals from pot belly pigs to miniature donkeys. You can purchase grain and corn for the animals from the store and you’ll definitely want to pick up some cheese to take home! 

Hours: Open Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 pm. and Saturday – Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
