Once Thanksgiving and Halloween come and go, it’s easy to fall into a slump while we wait for the holiday season to roll around. But at datenight, we love November! It’s the perfect balance between autumn and winter. You get to break out your cozy sweaters, plan out your holiday wish list, and indulge in some comforting culinary classics (everything with butter please!) As the temperature drops, the desire to cuddle up under a mountain of blankets and binge-watch Netflix all night is tempting but we’re here to remind you to seize the season!

BLISS Caffeine Bar is the newest restaurant and café on South Park St and has become an absolute hit since they opened their doors back in May. With their Parisian feel, and tastefully aesthetic and cozy interior, it’s definitely going to be your go-to coffee shop. They’re also so much more than your classic café, offering brunch and signature cocktails as well as pastries and a variety of espresso drinks.

Grab your date for a celebration of diverse filmmaking and storytelling from around the world. Film festivals are always an incredible experience for a date night – it’s a fun spin on the classic movie date! The festival will be held at Salt Yard so you can even grab food and drinks right on the Halifax waterfront to make the most out of your evening.

Want to get into the holiday spirit? Head to Evergreen Festival! This multi-week outdoor experience celebrates Nova Scotia’s culture, food, spirits, craft, art, music, and performance. You will find a walkable, safe collection of outdoor experiences linked together through a series of illuminated installations and activations encompassing both businesses and public spaces. Be sure to bundle up (or get cozy with your date) and enjoy the sights and sounds of the festive season.

This date night deal at Durty Nelly’s is one of our favourites in the city and is so perfect for when the cooler weather rolls around. For only $20, you and your date can enjoy a bottle of Jackson-Triggs wine! We highly recommend ordering some Blarney Chips to share as well. If you know, you know.
