October is the month of the year that is quintessentially Autumn. The scent of pumpkin spice is in the air, and as the temperatures start to drop, the desire to cuddle up under a bundle of blankets with your date rises. Although the change of the season signifies that the year is coming to a close, it is a reminder to seize the season and plan the best dates for the rest of the year.

1. Dinner and Drinks at Porch YYC

Porch is the newest restaurant on 17th Ave and after much anticipation for Calgary foodies, it is finally open! With their indoor-outdoor feel, porch swings and delicious cocktails and food, it’s definitely going to be the summer inspired hang-out, all year long. Although they are currently not taking reservations, stop by and try your luck or hop on their waitlist – either way you will not want to miss out on trying this new hot spot this fall.
2. Fall Drag Ball

Get dolled up with all the local kings and queens and enjoy an epic Drag show with all your favourite pop classics. The energy of a drag show is always an incredible experience for date night, and this one is one you won’t want to miss for your next October dates.

3. Pumpkin Carving + Craft Beer Event
October 28th + 30th – 7:30-10:00pm
Tickets: $25
Want to get into the Fall spirit? Head to the Freehouse Pumpkin Carving & Craft Beer event. For just $25 you will get a pumpkin to carve and take home and a craft beer to sip on while you and your date carve away. They will be playing fun classic halloween movies and there will also be delicious pumpkin beers on special.
4. Chef’s Table Dinner at Ten Degrees Chocolate
October 16th – 6:00-9:00pm
Tickets: $85 with wine pairings, $70 without
This 4-course chef’s tasting dinner at Ten Degrees Chocolate is one of our top 5 October dates that you will not want to miss. The Chefs that have created the menu for this evening will be Jack Christensen & Angel Raymundo! They have created 4 delicious dishes that all incorporate one not-so-secret ingredient – chocolate. 5. ZooDunnit
October 22nd – 5:00-9:30pm
Tickets: $99
This event is the first Murder Mystery-style event taking place at The Calgary Zoo! Solve the murder of a famous zoologist while you explore the zoo and stop at food stations with your detective crew! This is event is perfect October date idea to get the gang together for a fun and interactive fall evening.
