5 Spooky Season Activities in Ottawa

We always welcome spooky season with open arms here at Date Night! This is a list of 5 spooky season activities in Ottawa to help get you and your date into the Halloween spirit. You will find everything from a haunted drive-through, to pumpkin art, to yummy fall treats, and incredible mazes that you can check out this week.

1. Deadwood Ottawa

411 Corkstown Rd – Wesley Clover Parks Campground

This super awesome haunted drive-through experience has returned to Ottawa in 2021! For those of you who attended last year, please note that they have definitely changed the horror sets. Attendees will experience 7 spine-chilling horror sets. The sets include live actors and special effects with coordinated lighting and sound to make you scream from the comfort and warmth of  your car. We checked it out on October 22nd and let’s just say we screamed several times…

Dates: October 14 – 31

Cost: CA$56.94 per vehicle (includes fees and taxes)

2. Pumpkinferno at Upper Canada Village

13740 Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry County Road 2

Pumpkinferno has officially returned to Upper Canada Village! It’s a phenomenal display of over 7,000 handcrafted pumpkins that are lit and arranged into different displays. The amount of detail in each display is mind-blowing!!

Dates: October 18 – 31

Hours of Operation: 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM

General Admission: $20 + HST

Children aged 4 and under: Free

3. Saunders Farm

7893 Bleeks Road

One of our favorite Halloween dates is visiting Saunder’s Farm. There is something for everyone there – from pumpkins to FrightFest!! 

Pumpkin season means lots of outdoor attractions including pumpkins, puppet shows, a parade, 5 hedge mazes, and more! It’s a spectacular experience for the entire family. 

Meanwhile, FrightFest allows visitors to experience 5 immersive Haunts including The Coven, Haunted Hayride, The Barn of Terror, Shambles, and The Cemetery Scare Zone. In addition to the haunts, you and your date can enjoy a patio with burgers, fresh cut fries, poutine, and snacks. Saunders is also serving cold drinks, craft beer, and their own Saunders Cider.

4. Miller’s Farm and Market

6158 Rideau Valley Drive

Millers’ Farm and Market is a fall lover’s dream!! This dreamy farm lets you bring along your furry friends as long as they are on a leash and are cleaned up after. The produce and garden centre has farm-grown and local fall fresh produce available for sale. You can also pick out and purchase pumpkins to take home and carve/paint. Lastly, you can enjoy the corn maze on site for $4 per person (children under one year old are free).

Hours of Operation: 8:00 AM — 5:00 PM

General Admission: Free

5. The Sawmill at Lansdowne

Great Lawn at Lansdowne Park

The Sawmill is returning to Lansdowne, in partnership with Saunders Farm. Guests can tour the wreckage from the demolition of the southside stands at TD Place this year! Please note that this is not recommended for children under 12.
