Summer food festival season is getting a major upgrade in 2026. Taco Fest, the wildly popular taco celebration that has packed crowds in Toronto for years, is officially expanding its lineup with a brand new Mississauga debut at Port Credit Memorial Park.

The festival brings together some of the region’s most talented chefsm restaurants, catering companies, food trucks and more!

Expect inventive tacos, handcrafted cocktails, and a lively atmosphere with music and dancing. Now the fiesta is getting even bigger with three Canadian cities hosting events this year.

Love tacos, margaritas, and sunny outdoor festivals? This is one event worth adding to your calendar early.

Taco Fest Mississauga makes its debut this June

For the first time ever, Taco Fest will kick off its 2026 season in Mississauga at Port Credit Memorial Park from June 27 to June 28.

The waterfront park will transform into a vibrant outdoor food festival. Guests can sample creative tacos from local restaurants and chefs while enjoying cocktails, music, and live entertainment all weekend.

The expansion marks a big milestone for the festival, which has seen eight consecutive sold-out summers in Toronto.

According to Taco Fest Co-Founder Brad Wishen, bringing the event to Mississauga felt like the natural next step as the festival continues to grow.

Toronto’s beloved taco festival returns for its ninth year

After the new Mississauga debut, Taco Fest will return to its flagship Toronto location at Fort York from August 7 to August 9.

Toronto’s edition has become a summer favourite for food lovers across the city. The event gathers chefs and local restaurants who compete to create the most memorable tacos of the weekend.

Guests can expect dozens of taco creations, from classic recipes to bold experimental flavours. Margaritas, cocktails, and festival-style drinks will keep the celebration going.

Music, salsa dancing, and live performers keep the atmosphere lively from afternoon into the evening.

Montreal closes out the taco celebration season

The final stop of the 2026 tour will bring Taco Fest to Clock Tower Pier in Montreal from September 5 to September 7.

The Montreal edition continues the same winning formula: inventive tacos, vibrant entertainment, and an energetic crowd celebrating Mexican-inspired cuisine.

By then, the “Best Taco” competition will already be heating up across cities as the festival arrives in Montreal. Guests will vote to decide which chef takes home the coveted title.

A taco competition that crowns the best bite of the weekend

At each city’s event, Taco Fest hosts a Best Taco Award where attendees vote for their favourite creation of the festival.

The competition highlights the creativity of local chefs and restaurants. Each vendor aims to create a taco that stands out.

Tickets are already generating buzz

For now, early ticket access for Taco Fest is already underway, giving taco lovers the chance to secure their spot before general sales open.

With each city preparing to reveal its lineup of chefs, special collaborations, and limited-edition taco creations, anticipation for this year’s events is quickly building.

Considering the festival’s history of sold-out weekends in Toronto, securing tickets early may be the smartest move.
