Top 4 Apple Orchards to Visit Near Ottawa This Fall

Fall is officially here! Apple picking is a cherished autumn tradition and one of our favourite seasonal date ideas. As the summer heat gives way to cooler temperatures, orchards around the Ottawa area come alive with fresh apples, delicious cider, fun wagon rides, and wholesome farm fun!

We’ve rounded up a few apple orchards around Ottawa that you can visit this season to start your fall dates off right!

1. Orléans Fruit Farm

At Orléans Fruit Farm, apple picking season goes right until the end of September offering apple varieties such as Lobo, MacIntosh, Cortland, and Empire.

The farm also offers fresh apple cider, delicious candy apples, a fun play area for kids, and fruit and vegetable stands.

Address: 1399 St. Joseph Blvd, Orléans, Ontario

Hours of operation: Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-5pm

Season: September 1-30, 2023

2. Ferme Dagenais

Ferme Dagenais is a biodynamic farm that offers organic and natural products, including a wide variety of apples. Their apple varieties include Bright Gold, Freedom, Nova Easy Grow, Nova Mac, Liberty, and Purple Passion. Did we mention that you’ll be picking apples along the most adorable roaming farm animals?!

You can also shop local products at Le Tournesol including organic meat, eggs, and honey.

Address: 1155 Stevens Road, Embrun, Ontario

Hours of operation: Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday (September 10th, 17th, and 24th) from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Closed on public holidays.

Season: August-October 2025 (often sold out by the end of September)

3. Apple Stock Orchard

Apple Stock Orchard is located just a short drive south of Ottawa in the beautiful, historic town of North Dundas. Their orchard offers many lower hanging branches that allow the whole family to pick their own McIntosh apples.

You can also indulge in some fall favourite treats during your visit including candy apples, cider, and local honey.

Address: 1341 Merkley Road, North Dundas, Ontario

Hours of operation: 9 a.m.-5 p.m., 7 days a week

Season: September 2, 2025 onwards (this orchard officially closed for the season on October 5th 2025)

4. Mountain Orchards

Mountain Orchards is a go-to apple picking spot for Ottawans and for good reason! Apart from their variety of U-Pick apple trees, they also offer many free family-friendly activities. Enjoy a day exploring the corn mazes, straw jumps, wagon rides, and forest trails and end your visit with some festive apple cider donuts! The best part is that this orchard is dog friendly.

Honeycrisp, Empire, Salish [NEW FLAVOURS], Cortland, and McIntosh apples are currently available for picking. Here is an updated list of what’s still available for picking.

Hours of operation: Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. during apple season

Season: End of August to Mid-October 2025 (currently still open!)
