Accommodations at Baker Creek by Basecamp
The check-in process was really smooth; we were greeted with big smiles, genuine enthusiasm and invaluable recommendations about the area. We were provided with two keys for our cabin and fresh ground coffee as a welcome gift which smelled divine. Our cabin #4, named the Bartletts, had a clear view of Lake Louise in all its glory as well as the creekside fire pits. There was help available at almost every corner and a lot of supplies for activities such as a bonfire and barbecues available for use outside to cook larger meals.
We had the chance to stay at the family superior two-bedroom cabin, which had such a cozy feel to it and was equipped with absolutely everything you would need for an impeccable stay. It features a fully refreshed custom log and reclaimed wood interior with a kitchenette, and the living area features a river rock wood burning fireplace. This particular one accommodates up to 5 people: there’s a queen bed in the master bedroom, a locally crafted bunk bed in the second bedroom which added a sense of closeness, as well as a double pull out sofa. Our favourite part was the private deck with outdoor seating and a rocking bench which was the perfect addition to a homey cabin lifestyle.
Exceptional Hospitality
While the location was ideal for an unwinding getaway to the mountains and the warm hospitality of the staff created a welcoming atmosphere, the attention to detail in this mountain resort was what truly stood out. A few examples would be the binoculars that elevated the stargazing experience that much more, the flashlight just next to our cabin door, the many books about Banff hike recommendations / the mammals we can find in the Rockies, the wood drawers outside of every cabin that had blankets and pillows for some time spent outside, as well as the toiletries provided by an Indigenous owned company. Another thing that felt really special was the branding of the resort. The branded mugs and the notebook with everyone’s personal experiences of their stays added so much personality and made it feel like its own. Everything had its place and it almost felt like a mini “treasure hunt” to discover them all.
The Ultimate Way to Relax and Unwind
The fire pits by the creek offer an incredible way to end your evening and give you ample opportunity to stargaze. The creek both lulls you to sleep, and also wakes you up with the soothing sounds of the nearby stream and the delightful chirping of birds which was just pure magic. The resort also has a gym for those who want to get in some movement before a day spent in the mountains, as well as a sauna and steam room to unwind after a long day.
