Living in Calgary, one of your favourite summer date night spots will likely include the Calgary Zoo. After all, it’s the place where you get to visit all the exotic animals, take some Insta worthy pics and spend the day working on your tan.
This Summer, the zoo is making your summer date sweeter by challenging you to help them save the planet. What does that mean exactly? Tour the zoo, participate in their Guardian of the Wild game and make smart decisions to help protect the wilderness for a chance to win some sweet prizes like an all-expenses paid trip for two to China.
Here’s how it works :
First, make it a date. We have a feeling this one won’t take much convincing – phone your bestie, your bae or your baby brother and set a date to spend the day at the Calgary Zoo. Your ticket helps support their conservation efforts so you’re already helping just by showing up. While you’re here, be sure to download their interactive map on your phone so you can keep track of where you’re going.
Next, look for the 10 action stations around the zoo to collect contest codes. The stations all teach you how to take steps in your daily life to protect the wilderness and can be found throughout different destinations. To give you an idea, activities include making Oceanwise seafood decisions, recycling your electronics, buying rainforest-friendly products and planting a patch of pollinator-friendly flowers in your home garden. You won’t need to visit every station to play, but every code you collect does increase your chances of winning some epic prizes so tap into your competitive side and stick around to make a full day out of your visit.
Once you’ve collected all the codes, enter them here. Play smart and hold off on entering the codes until you have as many as you can since you’ve only got one opportunity to enter this contest.
Then all you’ve gotta do is wait until September 4th to hear if you’re one of the lucky winners of the galactic-sized prizes. Prizes include a trip for two to China valued at approximately $5000, a trip for four to the Burgess Shale in Field, BC, a Columbia River Paddle Trip for four in Radium, BC and so much more.
Click here to download the map. Visit the zoo until September 3rd for your chance to play and become a Guardian of the Wild.
