We’ve rounded up some personal favourites from time spent in Montreal for this guide to date nights in this beautiful city.
Whether you’re looking to impress a soon-to-be-love, your partner of a long time, or have arrived at that infamous third date, we have some intimate and romantic places where you’ll swoon over the food, and over each other.
Check out some top picks from our VERY long list of date night faves.
1. Le Mal Nécessaire
Subtly nestled in Chinatown, this boozy, tiki themed bar is great for a lively date night. They have techno music, lounge and bar seating, and you can even get a flaming drink served in a pineapple! (I personally have had a very successful date here – big recommendation!)
2. Le Majestique
As you walk down St. Laurent, you’re bound to look over at Le Majestique. Its quaint, dimly lit, romantic aura draws you in from miles away. The vibe is very intimate, and all of the seafood is delicious.
This is definitely the spot to go for deep conversations over a glass of wine in a romantic atmosphere.
3. Nora Gray
This is a real “if you know, you know” kind of spot in Griffintown. Nora Gray has been a staple for ages now. But it’s tried and true! It’s definitely a little more upscale, but if you’re looking to impress your date, or it’s a special occasion, this is where you’ll want to go.
The food is the main standout here so make it an investment and treat yourself!
4. Foiegwa
I think by now you’ve probably seen photos of the truffle pasta with the egg yolk on top from Foiegwa. If you haven’t, let me put you onto something spectacular! Foiegwa has been making waves in Atwater. They have the cutest decor and the food is really something to write home about! This is also a really great spot for a girls night out – did somebody say rosé?!
5. Bottega Pizzeria
I am about to make a bold statement: Bottega Pizzeria has the best pizza in Montreal. There, I said it. Now let me tell you why. The ambiance is warm yet sleek. Each ingredient used is super fresh. The crust is crispy yet fluffy on the inside, the sauce is well balanced and slightly sweet from the tomatoes, and the cheese is melted to perfection. Paired with a bottle of red, and you got yourself a date night!
Don’t sleep on the cannolis for dessert either!
6. Agrikol
If you’re looking for good vibes and good food, then Agrikol is the place for you. This Hatian spot is bringing you all the soul. The flavours in the food and the cocktails are fresh and unique. Walking in here is like stepping into an artist’s home.
You’ll marvel at the decor and jive to the music as you sip on something sweet. Your date will love it here!
