Meet local couple Davey (@davey_gravy) and Zandalee (@middayglow). You’ve probably seen their photos light up your Instagram feeds by now .. and with good reason. Their photos are filled with magic and often capture our favourite parts of the city. These two also recently got engaged and we couldn’t be happier for them. 💍 Read on to learn more about Davey and Zandalee.

How long have you been together?
We have been together almost a year and a half now.
How did you meet?
We met through mutual friends who thought we would be a good fit together, and to both our surprise they were actually so right! We both think there is no one more suited for us than each other.
If you could choose two celebrities to play yourselves in a movie, who would you choose and why? What would the movie be about?
Zandalee would pick Mila Kunis and I would pick Paul Rust. The movie would be about how we met on a blind date and fell in love through all the travel adventures we’ve been able to go on together as well as all the exploring we do in and around our own city!
What are your top 3 date spots in Calgary?
We love:
- Jinya, especially in the cold months
- Alberta Theatre Projects for seasonal plays and
- East Village Junction right now!

If one of your favourite artists were to write a song about you, what would it be called and why?
We would love to have Sebell write a song about us, it would be called Liquid Gold because it’s something Zandalee said in reference to how I make her feel and ever since, I think we’ve really tried to ensure we are making each other feel that way.
What would your advice be on how to overcome challenges in a relationship?
The classic answer: communication! Relationships are a lot less work when you are open, honest and willing to talk. Things get complicated and messy when you play games. Put the other person first and make good communication a priority.
What superpower does your partner have?
Memory. Zandalee has a crazy good memory, from random dates like when I got a ticket in Canmore even though she wasn’t even there, to a text message I sent her when we first started talking, and all our inside jokes.
