Every June, Pride Month is celebrated across the globe. So naturally, we had to end our #CouplesofYYC feature strong this month with local couple Melissa (@meldrover) and Erin (@nitaneil). This gorgeous couple loves good caesars, good oysters and good company so they totally seem like our type of people. Read on to learn more about Melissa and Erin.

How long have you been together?

We’ve been together two years this September!

How did you meet?

We met officially through a mutual friend.

If you could choose two celebrities to play yourselves in a movie, who would you choose and why? What would the movie be about?

I would totally have Zoey Deutch play me in a movie. And our movie would probably be about how we ended up together, and the whirlwind of the beginning of our relationship to now.

What are your top 3 date spots in Calgary?

1. Our first date was pretty great, we bar hopped down Stephen Avenue looking for good caesars and oysters, which of course was so easy.
2. A rock climbing date at the Calgary Climbing Centre. We took a two hour private lesson and had THE most fun.
3. Zip lining! Erin was terrified, and I was so proud of her for powering through.

If one of your favourite artist were to write a song about you, what would it be called and why?

Tyler Shaw – his song House of Cards. She’s the queen I never thought I’d find.

What would your advice be on how to overcome challenges in a relationship?

My best advice is honestly everything Melissa has taught me. Always have your partners back – you’re a team and don’t forget that. It’s totally okay to fight or argue, just know when to walk away and when to come back.

What superpower does your partner have?

Melissa’s superpower is her ability to see the positive in everything. I have never met anyone who can find and believe the good in every person or situation.
