As of June 10th, Alberta’s Open for Summer Phase 2 of the re-opening plan is here. Many Albertans have been vaccinated and have continued to follow the COVID restrictions in place, and now along with the summer weather comes a new wave of activities and guidelines! We are here to break it all down for you so you know how to plan your upcoming dates and weekends!
Restaurants
6 people per table, indoors and outdoors
It has been a long time since Albertans have been able to share a drink or a meal with their family and friends. Now, both indoor and outdoor dining is available with parties up to 6 people and no restrictions on needing to be from the same household.
Gyms and Fitness Studios
Open for solo visits, drop-ins and fitness classes with 3 metres between each participant.
After a lot of makeshift home gyms and countless walks around the block, many athletically inclined Calgarians are itching to get back to their fitness routines and classes! Go ahead, plan that spin date!
Indoor Recreation, Entertainment, etc.
Recreation centres, arenas, casinos, cinemas, theatres, museums, galleries + libraries are all open at ⅓ capacity
Finally, some more activities are entering the ring. Whether you’ve been craving some organized sports (Hey, CSSC!), playing some blackjack at Cowboy’s Casino or even just GOING TO THE MOVIES (!!!) – you are in luck!
Personal and Wellness Studios
Walk-in services are now welcome.
Outdoor Social Gatherings
Up to 20 people with proper social distancing.
Alberta is open for summer, and just in time for barbecue season! Fire up the grill, and cook up 20 burgers, because we are now able to see up to 20 people at a time outside! Keep your patio chairs 6 feet apart and cheers (from a distance) to seeing your loved one’s faces without needing a zoom meeting link! Now’s the time to introduce your quarantine cutie to your crew!
Outdoor Concerts/Festivals
Up to 150 people.
Wedding Ceremonies + Funeral Services
Up to 20 people indoors + outdoors (outdoor receptions only)
Outdoor Seating/Grandstands
1/3 Capacity
