Ottawa Capital Pride takes places each year in the month of August and the city is all set to host an exciting array of events and activities from August 17-25. From comedy nights with the city’s best queer comedians to dazzling drag performances, there is something for everyone to enjoy!

Join the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and allies as we come together to commemorate the progress made, raise awareness, and foster a sense of unity and belonging. 

Read on to discover events and date ideas you can experience this month to celebrate Ottawa Capital Pride. 

The Pride Night Market returns for the third year in a row to celebrate the vibrancy of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. 

During this evening outdoor event at the Parkdale Market, the spotlight shines on local 2SLGBTQIA+ vendors and small businesses, offering a special opportunity to support the queer and trans artisans and entrepreneurs of our city.

Date: Saturday, August 17th from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Location: 366 Parkdale Ave, Ottawa

Cost: FREE Entry

Join more than 225 groups and over 11,000 community members for this year’s Pride Parade! This year’s Grand Marshal and Honoured Group will lead the parade as we celebrate throughout the streets of downtown Ottawa.

Date: Sunday, August 25th at 1:00 p.m.

The Capital Pride Street Festival returns to Bank Street this year! This event features community organizations, political groups, a craft fair, activations from Capital Pride’s corporate partners and other programming. Come out and celebrate the 2SLGBTQIA+ community!

Date: Saturday, August 24th to Sunday, August 25th from 12:00 p..m. – 8:00 p.m. each day

Location: Bank St, Ottawa

Cost: FREE entry

It’s no surprise that many federal public servants live in Ottawa. That’s why the Public Service Pride Network (PSPN) is proud to team up with Capital Pride to host an unforgettable PSPN Social!

Join 2SLGBTQIA+ public servants, allies, friends and family for an evening of connection, celebration, and fun. Come by yourself or bring a colleague. Everyone is welcome!

Date: Tuesday, August 20th from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Location: Queen St. Fare at 170 Queen St, Ottawa

Cost: FREE admission

Come out and celebrate Ottawa Pride Week with Centre33 – a community centre in Kanata that supports children and youth, fosters 2SLGBTQIA+ visibility, and creates a safe and inclusive space for all. 

This year’s picnic will feature The Merry Dairy, Scratch Box Gastro, Maverick’s Donuts, Monkey Rock Music, a Picnic Basket Decorating Contest, door prizes/raffle, a pride merch table, lawn games, and more!

Date: Saturday, August 24th from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Location: 33 Leacock Dr, Kanata

Cost: FREE admission, donations appreciated

This is not a drill, Ottawa! Sour is back for Ottawa Pride week with the icon herself, Lemon, from Canada’s Drag Race. Lemon will be joined by Veruschka, Karamilk, Adrianna Exposee and Toronto’s DJ Sophie Jones for a dance party like no other, with performances throughout.

Date: Saturday, August 24th at 10 p.m.

Visit Cultures Comedy Club for a fabulous celebration of love and diversity! Be ready to slay all day with amazing performances, glitter, and good vibes. This event is all about spreading love and embracing who you are. So put on your most fabulous outfit and get ready to dance the day away with an incredible lineup of artists and DJs!
