We love staying in and cozying up to a movie as much as the next couple, but sometimes a good adventure with your bae keeps the spark in your relationship going. Nothing says love like adventure.

So you want to take a drive, but where to? The possibilities of a day trip are endless, really. We’ve put together our favourite date destinations, so grab your Audi keys, Starbucks latte and hit the road.

Views at Emerald Lake Lodge

It’s about a 2.5 hour drive over to Field, B.C. Through the mountains, past Lake Louise arriving at the breathtaking Emerald Lake. The perfect place to hang out for the day, there is no cell reception so you have your boo all to yourself. In the winter, you can go skating, snowshoeing or just sit in the lodge admiring the views over a glass of wine.

Bagels in Canmore

Rocky Mountain Bagel Co is a destination in itself, and no trip to Canmore is complete with stopping in for a freshly baked bagel. Book you and bae in for a massage at one of the gorgeous spas in town and enjoy the day relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Hoodoos in Drumheller

These sandstone pillars take millions of years to form and we’re so lucky to have them only 1.5 hours away in Alberta badlands. Explore the unique landscape as you walk between the pillars and admire their oddly shaped formations. Head over to the Tyrell Museum afterwards to go even farther back in our history.

MacKay’s Ice Cream in Cochrane

Located just West of our city in historical downtown Cochrane, this hand crafted ice cream is worth the line up in the summer or winter. Try one of their seasonal flavours or pick a classic like strawberry, and spend the afternoon walking through the streets of Cochrane.

Gopher Museum in Torrington

Yes, you read that right there is a museum dedicated to gopher’s in Torrington, Alberta. It could be argued that you haven’t really experienced Alberta tourism until you step foot in the Gopher Hole Museum. It’s about an hour away and you’ll get to drive though the beautiful Alberta prairies along the way.

Antiques in Nanton

You never know what you’re going to find when you start going through the hundreds of antiques in Nanton. Drive South for an hour and you’ll hit this Alberta gem. Some of the buildings that house the stores are just as old as the goods that are inside them, but we can guarantee you won’t leave empty handed.

Road trips are always fun, especially when you get to explore somewhere new. Royal Oak Audi is celebrating their 10th anniversary and they’re no strangers to taking a drive. For ten years they’ve been helping Calgarians find the vehicle they need to get out of the city and see what this province has to offer.
