Planning a trip to the Okanagan Valley this summer?

This list is perfect for those that are looking to visit some extravagant wineries with wine pairings. These wineries go all out, whether it be the special wine-tasting experiences, or just how luxurious the actual winery looks.

Without further ado, here are five wineries in the Okanagan that you shouldn’t skip, this season!

Mission Hill Family Estate Winery

If you’re looking for a winery that could belong in Italy, this is it. Not only does this winery serve up some delicious wine, but it also has some stunning architecture that could fit right in with the buildings in Rome! After sipping on a glass of vino, don’t forget to snap a pic with the structure and surrounding views on the way out.

Phantom Creek Estates

Phantom Creek Estates is known for its sleek, modern, and luxurious winery setting. This must-see spot is nestled along the vineyards, on the Black Sage Bench. The Restaurant at Phantom Creek showcases fresh foods from local farmers and producers. It also highlights what’s in season! You can enjoy a two-course lunch menu for $50, per person or a three-course menu for $70 per person (excluding wine pairings).

Black Hills Estate Winery

Black Hills Estate Winery is another must-stop wine-tasting location along Black Sage Road, in the Okanagan Valley. They have a ton of different wine experiences including the “Adamo Flight Experience,” “Blanc de Burrata” and “The Grape and the Olive Experience.” Whether you are strictly a red wine, white wine, or any wine lover, there is a custom package for whatever pleases your palette. 

Quails’ Gate Winery

This gorgeous family-farmed winery sits right on Okanagan Lake — making it the perfect place to sip a glass of wine and take in some stunning lake views. Quails’ Gate Winery offers vineyard tasting tours, wine and cheese tasting tours, and even yacht cruise tasting tours! The afternoon lake cruise tour includes a 40’ boat, Quails’ Gate wines, breathtaking views of the Okanagan Valley, and delicious canapés from the Old Vines Restaurant culinary team.

Checkmate Artisanal Winery

Checkmate Artisanal Winery has a historic estate vineyard and a mesmerizing winery building with contemporary architecture. They offer intimate wine-tasting options, where ambassadors will guide guests through the wine-making process of its exquisite Chardonnays and Merlots. “The Grandmaster’s Table” package includes a winery tour, followed by a tasting with a flight of Chardonnay, Merlot — and of course, cheese!
