Last year, datenight embarked on their inaugural Awards, recognizing the best of the best in our city (and cities across Canada). datenight awards was created to provide our community a thoughtful guide of the best date ideas based on your input and our Committee’s expertise.
During 2024, date night lovers of all kinds could submit their nominations for their favourite spots around the city in six chosen categories including Dinner Date, Brunch Date, Coffee Date, Cocktail Date, Brewery Date, and Dessert Date.

Beyond the Pale Brewing Company
Beyond the Pale is a spacious craft brewery that has been brewing beers for locals since 2012. They’ve created a laid-back spot where everyone can enjoy a pint! Their beer lineup features everything from bright and refreshing American IPAs to funky Imperial Stouts, with new brews dropping regularly. The Tap Room’s outdoor patio is a favourite during the warmer months, offering a great place to unwind and connect with friends (or on a date!)

Braumeister Bierhalle
Braumeister Bierhalle is a local gem in Ottawa that’s been serving up amazing craft beer in the Hintonburg neighbourhood since 2021. What started as a flagship taproom in Carleton Place has grown into a beer lover’s paradise, with two locations and retail shops to keep your fridge stocked. Known for their Bavarian-inspired beers, Braumeister Brewing Company provides a consistent brew of some of the finest European beer styles including Oaked Vienna Lager, Schwarzbier, and Helles. Conspiracy Theory is a small batch brewery located in Bells Corner, known for its quality beer and creative vibes. Dominion City Brewing Co.
Dominion City is where craft drinks and creativity collide! Their Tap Room is located in the east end of Ottawa, offering a great place to grab a refreshing craft beer, their brand new non-alcoholic beer, Working Lunch, or a delicious City Seltzer soda. Their beer is crafted with hops from a family-owned farm on the shores of Lake Erie and they source a significant amount of their ingredients locally. They’re also always hosting fun events like brewery kitchen pop-ups with some of the city’s best restaurants, the DCBC Run Club, and taproom trivia.
