Here’s the thing, we know that we all love wine and going to the wineries, but having to go all the way up to the Okanagan can be a bit of challenge to plan. While we can’t always have date night in wine country, we can frolic the wineries closer to home in Langley. There are some amazing views to see and even better wine to drink only an hour outside of the city. So Rock, Paper, Scissors who is going to drive or check out a wine tour (we like Vancouver Wine Tour) and get on the road to the grapes.
Here is our list of favourite wineries in Langley:
https://www.chabertonwinery.comFirst up on our list is Chaberton Estate Winery. We really like stopping here because they have one of our favourite Rosés. The Valley Pink is deep in colour and extra crisp not being too sweet.
Other great perks of adding Chaberton to your winery tour is the public tours of the estate. They take you through their whole process on how they make their wines, a little walk through the vineyard, see the crush pad and lots more. At the moment these tours are on pause but will hopefully be retuning soon.
Another great perk of this winery is doing a tasting and then buying a bottle to share out at their picnic tables. Try a few different ones and then pick your favourite to enjoy out in the sunshine with snacks.
Lastly they have an amazing bistro restaurant serving French style cuisine with a west coast flair. Now if that doesn’t get your taste buds going then we don’t know what will. The menu is incredible and you can find it here. If you would like to dine here you will need to make a reservation ahead of time.
Second on our list of wineries in Langley to visit is Glass House Estate Winery. It is absolutely stunning to see the glass building they have created on the front side of their property. Behind this stunning glass house is their partially covered outdoor patio area for their restaurant. As well another reason we love coming here, the mini pond and bridge to the picnic tables. The pond and bridge make for a lovely place to snap a couple of #couplegoals photos to share on the gram and make everyone jealous of your afternoon setup.
Back to their restaurant, the menu is great for everyone because even if you’re not on the wine train, they have a few great local beers to offer. On top of having a great beverage selection they also offer BRUNCH! That’s right, Saturdays and Sundays until 2:00pm you can enjoy amazing views of the vineyard, flights of wine, a beer or two, and everyones favourite meal of the week. What more could you really ask for? Check out their menu here.
Third on our tour is Backyard Vineyards.
Obviously their wines are amazing because that’s why they are on our list. But that isn’t our number one reason why we love Backyard Vineyards. Our main purpose for coming here is because their picnic area is doggo friendly and who says no to petting dogs and drinking wine? No one, exactly, so come on in for a flight and then finish off with your bottle from your tasting. You are welcome to bring your own picnic here but all drinks must be purchased from the vineyard.
Wanting to do a little more here? Check our their different tours you can book here. Fridays you can join in on trivia night and the weekends have many different pop ups going on. Find their full list of events on their calendar.
With Summer in full swing we hope that you can make it out to at least one of these great vineyards for date night. Maybe you don’t hit them all in one day but we wouldn’t say no to that idea either. We would love for you to share your favourite places with us on our instagram @datenightbc so we can add even more great places to check out for #datenight
