Among Toronto’s diverse skating rinks, the rink at Nathan Phillips Square stands out as a must for your winter season checklist. With the iconic Toronto sign as your backdrop, you and your date can glide hand in hand, warm up with some hot chocolate, and soak in the cozy winter vibes. Bonus—it’s free if you bring your own skates!

5. The Rink at 1 Hotel Toronto

There’s a hidden skating rink in Toronto that’s completely free to use and we’re not gatekeeping! Tucked away behind 1 Hotel Toronto’s outdoor patio at 550 Wellington Street W, this long and narrow rink offers a peaceful escape from the crowds. As part of the hotel’s winter celebration—this rink is open to the public daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Just bring your own skates, lace up, and glide across the ice for a magical winter experience you won’t want to miss!

Open until: Daily from 9am-7pm until the end of Feb
