A new pasta house is in town and we couldn’t be happier! It turns out this spot is a very underrated date night gem!
Dinner dates can be so expensive, especially when you’re looking to impress your date. Sketti & Ball Co. offers fantastic food and drinks with great vibes that allow you to indulge and enjoy without spending your whole pay cheque on date night. Atmosphere
Sketti & Ball Co. is located in Downtown Halifax at 1584 Argyle Street. During summer months, you can sit back and relax on their outdoor patio area or cozy up inside for a warm and inviting interior. This spot is filled with cool, quirky decor that fully ties in the pasta house theme!
Wine & Cocktails
We absolutely could not pass up their wine deals while we were here! They have a full wine list including European imports to some local Nova Scotian favourites- reds, whites, rose and orange wines! Our server guided us through with some awesome recommendations and we were very pleased with our choices.
Appetizers
There’s nothing better than sharing a bunch of apps to get a taste of everything, which is exactly what we did. Their new summer menu included this strawberry tomato burrata and prosciutto melon dish, both were absolutely incredible and fresh.
A trip to Sketti & Ball Co. would not be complete without their famous “The Biggest Mozza Sticks I’ve Ever Seen”! The name speaks for itself but these mozza sticks were truly giant but so tasty and flavorful. Who could pass up a good cheese pull?!
Mains
Sketti & Ball Co. loves to promote having fun with your food which is why they offer build your own meat ball dishes where you get to fully custom your dish. Choose from five of their special meatball flavours, a fresh sauce and your base. All pastas are made fresh and in-house! You really can’t go wrong with any of these dishes.
Dessert
By the time we were finished our meals, we were so stuffed but simply couldn’t pass up their delicious looking dessert menu! We opted for our server’s recommendations and went with the Lemon Tart and Warm Banana Split. The banana split dish was incredible; it included coconut macaroon, rum and caramel bananas and sweet basil ice cream. We were skeptical about the basil ice cream but trusted our server and ended up so happy we did- The flavours worked so well together! I know I will absolutely be ordering this dessert again when I return.
The total for our entire meal came out to less than $160 which is amazing considering we tried so many different menu items and had plenty of leftovers to bring home!
