This past year has looked a lot different for us with the travel restrictions put in place to keep our community safe and healthy. The good news is that you can still experience a fun and fulfilling getaway without traveling too far (AKA a staycation). You don’t need to travel far to relax and escape from the buzz of the city. Here’s where you should book your next luxury staycation!

We recently stayed at Owl & Otter located in Mineville, NS and I honestly cannot recommend this Airbnb enough! This stylish and modern farmhouse is located just 25 km away from downtown Halifax and can sleep up to 15 people (2021 bookings are currently restricted to a max of 10 guests in accordance with social gathering protocols). The rental consists of two distinct spaces:

1. Owl – A 2000 sq foot two-level luxury staycation house

2. Otter – A 900 sq foot studio space (with double sofa bed and queen air mattress + 1/2 bath)

The house is situated at the top of a shared private lane on a 40-acre property of a 200 year old farm. While not much remains of the farm, you can enjoy the surrounding nature and the marked trails that lead to a large pond.
