Few summer date nights are as simple or as romantic as watching a movie under the stars. Throughout August, parks across Toronto are hosting free outdoor film screenings, giving you the perfect excuse to pack a blanket, bring your favourite snacks, and enjoy a night outside.
The Toronto Outdoor Picture Show returns to Christie Pits Park with Sunday evening screenings, including Titanic (August 2), Thelma & Louise (August 9), Faces Places (August 16), and an audience choice film on August 23. Families can also head to Bell Manor Park in Etobicoke for free screenings of The Queen of My Dreams, The Princess Bride, and Paddington from August 13–15.
If you’re looking for another free movie night, Harbourfront Centre’s Free Flicks series continues every Tuesday evening through September 1. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Lake Ontario, the lakeside screenings feature a lineup of classic favourites and cult hits, including Moulin Rouge! and This Is Spinal Tap.

August 14–16
One of Toronto’s most unique summer festivals returns to Hotel X Toronto at Exhibition Place. Wander through dozens of Pan-Asian food vendors, browse local artisan booths, watch cultural performances, and experience the floating lantern displays. UpFRONT Festival of Indigenous Arts, Music & Culture
August 15-17
Celebrate Indigenous creativity and culture at the UpFRONT Festival of Indigenous Arts, music and culture, a free, family-friendly event taking place at Berczy Park in downtown Toronto.
