That is what the #unstoppable yoga training at Yoga Nova is all about – learning how to teach kids the practice of Baptiste Yoga to help create a resilient mind and a tool to use throughout life.
Yoga Nova is hosting the Baptiste Foundation’s #unstoppable yoga program. They are flying a facilitator in from New York who has studied for over a decade with Baron Baptiste, the founder of the foundation. The three day course will teach you the tools of yoga and meditation to get youth into yoga and meditation.
The Baptiste Foundation is a not for profit company that focuses on providing yoga and meditation for people that couldn’t afford it. Sound like something you’d be into? Here’s a few more reasons why you should sign up:
Empower Youth
The course will allow people who work with children to create resilience for youth by giving them to tools to fight anxiety and depression. When resilience pathways in our brains are created when we are young, they help for the rest of our lives.
Empower Yourself
You will leave the weekend feeling empowered. You will be given valuable tools that will teach you to care for yourself first so you can more effectively serve others. The course is delivered in an experiential way, keeping you moving and feeling rather than listening to the program; It’s an embodied, transformative experience for all participants.
No Yoga Teaching Experience
This course is specifically designed for people that have to official yoga teacher training. You will learn a set of tools to teach basic yoga poses, breathing exercises, meditation and relaxation techniques to youth in whatever setting you encounter them in.
It’s Inexpensive
If you work with youth (school teachers, school counselors, aides, coaches, community center employees, police officers, etc) the course costs $50 donated to the Baptiste Foundation. The importance of helping shape our youth and provide them with useful tools to become resilient and mindful. For those not currently working with at risk youth, the cost of the training is a $300 donation to the Baptiste Foundation.
Unique to YYC
The curriculum for the program has been developed over the last 20 years by people across Canada, US and Africa. Yoga Nova is the only place in Calgary to learn the #unstoppable program and spread the Baptiste Yoga practice.
