New Year’s Day Brunch

Calgary Icebreaker Polar Dip
January 1st at 1pm
Mahogany Beach Club, 29 Masters Park SE
Take a dip to fight human trafficking. On January 1st, a group of 150 “dipsters” will plunge into icy water while wearing costumes in support of the SA Foundation. If you’d like to watch the event happen, spectators are welcome to sit on the sidelines and watch for free. This year’s guest hosts are past Amazing Race contestants, Julie and Lowell Taylor.
The Schwarz’en’Egger Brunch & A Movie
January 1st from 1pm-5pm
The Plaza Theatre, 1133 Kensington Rd NW
Start 2019 off right this New Years Day. Come enjoy a hangover-curing brunch at Original Joes Kensington between 1pm-3pm then head over to watch Total Recall at The Plaza Theatre at 3pm.
Heritage Park Winter CARnival
January 2nd-6th from 10am-4pm
Gasoline Alley Museum, 1900 Heritage Dr SW
Gather your friends and bring them to Heritage Park’s Winter Carnival from January 2nd to 6th. Head inside to Gasoline Alley Museum where you’ll find different winter games and activities. Test your skill at a game of floor curling, test your accuracy with a snowball toss, build an indoor snow fort, face off in a game of table hockey, play a winter road trip game, or use your imagination to create and decorate a snowflake.
Runs until January 5th from 6pm-9pm

Come get into the festive spirit with over two million lights and 200 light displays. There will be crackling fire pits and hot chocolate to keep you warm and interactive activities to keep you entertained.
