From The Illusionists to the 2019 Concerto Competition Semi-Final Round, here’s what’s up this week in YYC.

1. The Illusionists – Live from Broadway
January 8th-12th
Tuesday-Saturday at 7:30pm with additional Saturday matinees at 11am and 2pm
Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, 1415 14 Ave NW

Grab your date and head over to the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium to see some of the best illusionists in the world perform magic. Performing some of the most outrageous acts ever to be seen on stage, this show will leave you thrilled with every moment.

2. Servus Ski Wednesdays
January 9th from 3pm-9pm
WinSport, 88 Canada Olympic Rd SW

Hit the slopes without breaking the bank. On select Wednesdays until March, WinSport will be offering $12 lift tickets between 3pm-9pm. The event is weather permitting so be sure to check the hill reports before you head out. The dates available are January 9th and 30th, February 20th, and March 6th and 20th.

3. Adults Only Night: Embrace Outer Space
January 10th from 6pm-10pm
TELUS Spark, 220 St. George’s Dr NE

The first Adults Only Night of 2019 at TELUS Spark will embrace the vastness and mysteries of outer space. Exploring earth to the edges of our solar system, TELUS Spark will be hosting a night of fun and knowledge as you partake in interactive activities. Take a peek at the moon and stars through their telescopes, find yourself in outer space with their VR Headsets, and be inspired to create your own perfect planet using maker materials.

4. Workshop: 2019 Vision Boarding
January 10th from 7pm-9pm
Work Nicer Coworking (Roxbury), #200 1006 11 Ave SW

A new year means it’s time to set your goals and intentions for 2019. Spend an evening dreaming, planning, and goal setting with The Ace Class. Lindsey Merkley and Crystal Bangle, the lovely ladies behind Grow & Co., will walk you through how to make your very own vision board. After all, the first step towards getting shit done is having a constant reminder in front of you of your goals and aspirations.

5. 2019 Concerto Competition Semi-Final Round
January 11th at 8pm
Rozsa Centre, 206 University Ct NW

Come watch the talented semi-finalists in the University of Calgary’s annual concerto competition. Winners will be selected to perform as soloists with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra in the final round of the competition which happens March 5th.
