1. Marda Loop Justice Film Festival

Playing at three different venues in the city, grab a date and head over to the Performance Hall at the Calgary Public Library, the Plaza Theatre, or the River Park Church Auditorium to take in one of the 19 film selections available. After the show, stick around for an impactful post-show discussion with local and international artists and experts while showing off your mingling skills.

2. Centre for Suicide Prevention Fundraiser

John Fluevog Shoes in Downtown Calgary will be hosting a fundraiser in support of the Centre for Suicide Prevention this Thursday. Admission is free and guests can expect an evening of gorgeous footwear, delicious beverages, tasty appetizers from Concorde Group and National on 10th, and live entertainment from Lisa Anderson.  During the event, purchase any regularly priced Fluevog item and 50% of sales will be donated to the Centre. Phone orders will also be accepted in case you can’t make it to the event but still want to show your support.


3. Art Market Art & Craft Sale

Known as one of the largest art and craft sales in the city, this market will showcase goodies from more than 200 professional artists. Products offered include pottery, jewellery, home furnishing, clothing and so much more. Make a trip out on Thursday or Friday to enjoy a special two for one evening ticket on Thursday and Friday where you there will be bar service and live music while you shop.


4. Light up Okotoks!

Get into the festive spirit in Okotoks this Friday. Holiday festivities  include a visit from Santa, wagon rides, a sugar shack, cookie decorating, craft sales, late night shopping, fireworks, and more. Support those in need by bringing along new scarves, mittens, toques, and baby items for local charities or by dropping off a food bank donation for the Okotoks and Veterans Food Banks. Pet food and toy donations also accepted.

5. Studio Bell After Hours: TONTO Edition ft. A Tribe Called Red

The National Music Centre’s popular late-night series returns this week with special headlining performances by A Tribe Called Red, Smalltown DJs, DJ Heather, and more. The special edition of After Hours will be part of a week-long celebration of monster synth The Original New Timbral Orchestra (aka TONTO). With pop-up bars, interactives, music experiments and other activities celebrating TONTO, this will not be your typical night at the museum.
