From Taste of Bragg Creek to Welcome to The SHOW, here’s what’s up this weekend in YYC.


1. Rec Room Music Video Dance Party

April 13th from 9pm-1am

On April 13th, the Rec Room Music Video Dance Party is back by popular demand. With some of the best videos from the 80’s, 90’s, and 00’s, expect to dance the night away to tunes by MJ, Backstreet Boys, Beyonce, and more legends. They’ll also include some of your guilty favourites like Woopit and Gangnam Style to really get you in the dancing mood.


2. Calgary Woman’s Show

April 14th from 10am-6pm and April 15th 11am-5pm

The Calgary Woman’s Show returns to the BMO Centre on April 14th and 15th for two days of non-stop entertainment, fashion, beauty, boutique shopping, and celebrity appearances from guests like Jess Walton from The Young and the Restless. Featuring more than 300 exhibitors, the show will be filled with fun, samples, free swag, and fashion shows.

 

3. Back to the 80’s Curling Bonspiel
April 14th from 1pm-9pm

One of the most anticipated events of the year marks its return on April 14th. This year, the Calgary Sport & Social Club is throwing it back to the 80’s for their Curling Bonspiel and it’s going to be like, totally tubular. There will even be an official after-party where teams can mingle and enjoy CSSC food and drink specials. Awards will be presented to the teams with the best overall record, best costume, and more. This event is all about fun and no experience is necessary.

4. Glory
April 14th at 2pm

Alberta Theatre Projects will be donating the proceeds from the 2pm matinee showing of GLORY on Saturday, April 14th to the #HumboldtBroncos GoFundMe campaign to help support those affected by last week’s tragic events. Join in on a celebration of the glory of our national sport and the strength and resilience of the community it creates.


5. Welcome to The SHOW with Special Guest Mitch Belot
April 14th at 7pm

On April 14th, come explore the power of self-realization. Welcome to The SHOW  is an energetic and passionate performance about the journey we must take to become the truest versions of ourselves. Come be inspired by special guest Canadian artist Mitch Belot and this dance and vocal intensive exploration that will dig into themes of self-doubt and bravery, creating joy, searching for and giving into love – all reinforcing the message that your only limitation is you.
