glow: Downtown Winter Light Festival is an annual light and music festival happening in the heart of downtown Calgary. Meant to warm up winter’s darkest days, experience one-of-a-kind interactive light displays, art, entertainment, food trucks and activities.

The Calgary Zoo is cranking up the Valentine’s Day heat with this special event. Wine and dine your date as you enjoy a delicious 4-course meal, romantic music, games, onsite photographer and a playful intimate exchange about romance in the wild.
3. de.Vi.ate

Over three evenings, de.Vi.ate will feature three contrasting modern ballets, choreographed by some of the most powerful voices of our time. Delight in two hours of highly powerful choreography in three acts at this riveting event. The acts are comprised of Futureland, a piece inspired by the aesthetics of contemporary video game art and music; Sixth Breath, a new creation which punctuates classical dance with athleticism and contemporary movement; and Caelestis, a mind-bending dance ritual that explores our diminishing humanity in an ever-expanding technological landscape.

5. Family Day with Fred Penner

Spend Family Day at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre. Fred Penner, one of Canada’s most beloved children’s singer-songwriter and the “Canadian Minister of Positivity,” will be performing at 11am and 2pm. Other activities include performances by local musicians and musical groups, show and tell, instrument demos, and campfire sing-alongs.
