From The Cupid Dash to Calgary Hitmen, here’s what’s up this weekend in YYC.

1. The Cupid Dash
February 9th from 9am-4pm

On February 9th, grab your date for The Dash’s February event, The Cupid Dash.  You’ll have some fun challenges to complete upon arrival as you compete amongst other teams. Past challenges have included decorating a cake, solving a puzzle, building a birdhouses, figuring out a brain teaser, or eating at a local delicacy, so you never know what might be in store. Bring along a donation to the Calgary Food Bank in order to secure a bonus point.

2. Lifts of Love
February 9th at 6pm

If you’re single and like to ski or ride, this event is for you. Come take a fresh approach on Speed Dating and spend the evening at Norquay meeting somebody new on every chair.

3. Lynn Olagundoye and Karimah

This Saturday, the National Music Centre will present R&B powerhouse Lynn Olagundoye with Karimah in celebration of Black History Month. Recalling neo-soul singers like Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, Lynn Olagundoye combines the best of vintage R&B, soul, funk, and Afrobeat with a searing heartfelt delivery that leaves audiences hanging on to every word she sings. Karimah is a French and English-speaking pop and R&B singer-songwriter, who explores the dark side of love and life through her music.

4. Soul Legends: From Isaac Hayes to Marvin Gaye

In honour of Black History Month, Soul Legends features 50 years of brilliant R&B, Motown, funk, disco, and pop by the world’s finest recording artists and performers, featuring the sensational voice of Gavin Hope. 5. Calgary Hitmen vs. Moose Jaw Warriors 
February 10th at 4pm

Come cheer on the Calgary Hitmen as they face off against the Moose Jaw Warriors at the Saddledome. Every Sunday home game features face painters, concourse activities, lots of prizes, and a post-game family skate on the ice.
