1. Calgary Home & Garden Show

Planning on sprucing up your space? Then you’ll want to head over to the 2018 Calgary Home and Garden Show. With special features including a tiny home village, workshop series, and a wine lounge, there are plenty of reasons you’ll want to check out the show. Stick around to gain some expert insight from celebrity guests like Todd Talbot of Love it or List it and Tiffany Pratt of Home to Win.

2. The Big Taste

Foodies rejoice! The Big Taste is back and more delicious than ever. The annual food festival is back in YYC from March 2nd to March 11th and features specially curated three-course lunches or dinners and $65 five-course gourmet masterpieces from participating restaurants. If you’ve always wanted to take your bae to a special venue in town, this is the perfect opportunity. With more than 90 participating restaurants, this is one festival you definitely won’t want to miss.

3. Five Alarm Funk at the Palace Theatre

Look no further than The Palace Theatre for your Saturday night plans. Vancouver-based band Five Alarm Funk hits the stage on March 2nd. With the release of five acclaimed albums and no plans to slow down anytime soon, you can expect to be dancing all night. RSVP for FREE entry before 1030pm.

 

4. Calgary Maple Festival
March 3rd and 4th from 10am-4pm

Back for its 16th year, The Calgary Maple Festival is an annual winter event held since 2016 at Heritage Park. This festival is a two-day-long celebration of the French Canadian, Metis, and First Nations cultures. Find shows of traditional music and dance, a Sugar Market of local vendors, a visual arts exhibition, maple taffy on snow, and more all weekend.

 

5. Walk In Her Shoes
March 4th from 12pm-3pm
Calgary Zoo, 210 St. George’s Drive NE

This Sunday, join hundreds of Calgarians on a 5,000 step walk around the Zoo to support women and girls in poverty around the world. End with a celebration at the ENMAX Conservatory with appetizers and activities.  This event supports a great cause and is excellent for a date or for a fun afternoon with the whole family. Tickets include admission into the Calgary Zoo and children under 17 years old are free when accompanied by an adult.

 

 

BONUS: A Red Carpet Affair

On March 4th, Calgary’s red carpet event of the year makes its return. Join the Calgary International Film Festival at The Palace Theatre for their annual Oscars Party. Get dolled up to walk the red carpet as you celebrate Hollywood’s best and most successful films of the year. There will also be entertainment, food and libations, a silent auction, door prizes, and an Oscars ballot where you can cast your own vote on who you think should win. Proceeds from this event will help raise funds for the Calgary International Film Festival.
