Stampede may be over but that doesn’t mean the good times have to stop. It just means you have other things to start looking forward to – like the 2018 Calgary Folk Fest for one. That’s right, it’s the time of year where you bring your blankets, lawn chairs and dates over to Prince’s Island Park for an epic weekend of live performances. This four-day festival has a lineup of Canadian and International performers that are sure to delight any music lover. We’ve come up with some tips on where to shop, what to eat and who to see to make sure you keep the good vibes alive.

Where to Shop

Between all the music performances, there is a ton of activities to keep you entertained – like shopping in the Arts Market. Grab your date and browse through a ton of amazing vendors selling an assortment of items like jewellery, accessories, skincare, pottery, clothing and more. Shop a collection of unique mantras hand engraved on 16k gold plated brass bars at âme collective, handcrafted natural skincare from Boreal Folk Apothecary, fairtrade goods from Guatemala at Casa Corazon, modern hats and accessories from Lavanderia Market and stationary and leather goods from Ochre Lea.

What to Eat

You can bring your own food to the festival, but if you’d prefer to grab something while you’re at the festival, you’ve got lots of options to choose from. Pick up a gourmet flatbread from Avatara Pizza, a burrito from BentoBurrito, lemonade from Family Squeezed Lemonade, gelato from Fiasco Gelato or steamed bao buns from Taiko Taco. Whatever you’re craving, they’re sure to have something to satisfy your appetite. Grab some fan-favourite sangria to pair with your food to make it the ultimate festival-worthy meal.
