Has it really already been a year since the last epic Banff Craft Beer Festival?! Time flies when you have the unbelievably gorgeous Rocky Mountains as your backdrop, whether you’re drinkin’ with your friends or exploring the great unknown. Alberta Beer Festivals (ABF) has tinkered away at this event and adapted it to be exactly what you’re looking for in a boozy mountain getaway. This epic celebration will be complete with local brews, delicious eats and live entertainment in a historic setting unlike any other. ABF has also taken care of transit, with free shuttles running throughout the night to ensure that you get to and from this annual event safely and comfortably. This is just the beginning of what you can expect at this year’s Banff Craft Beer Festival.
Widely considered the World’s Most Beautiful Beer Festival, this event is your chance to take a trip to the Rockies and unwind from your busy schedule. Ever since three railway workers stumbled upon this historic site in 1883 – yes, that long ago, – the Cave and Basin National Historic Site has been a place for all things adventure. Taking place partially outdoors, this craft beer festival will be at the home of Canada’s first national park. It will allow you to enjoy tasty Alberta-made craft beer and spirits all whilst gazing out at the spectacular Rocky Mountains, dusted with snow and untapped potential. However, this festival is more than just great drinks, exquisite food and live entertainment; it’s a chance to seek new opportunities, dive into the park’s past and choose your own mountain adventure as you get to know the historic town so close to home.
This year, the Banff Craft Beer Festival will include lantern-guided cave tours for the first 150 people to sign up each day. These individuals will get to take a lantern-led cave tour deep into the past while you learn where Canada’s national parks initially began. These tours will start 15 minutes after doors open and then run every 10 minutes for the first hour of each session, so make sure to get there early!
Other perks of this year’s beer festival include:
- Expanded shuttle service. Nobody wants to talk about going home before the night even begins, so ABF has done the planning for you. They are working with the Town of Banff to make your ‘adult field trip to and from somewhere amazing’ as seamless and efficient as possible with added shuttle capacity.
- Live music, DJs and so much more to entertain you from start to finish. Need we say more? Let’s party in the mountains, YYC!
- Local, local, local. As the craft beer industry in Alberta continues to grow, ABF has used some creative ways to fit even more vendors into this year’s festival. Sample over 50 of Alberta’s craft breweries, eateries and distilleries in five distinct areas of this amazing, historic landmark with all your besties.
- This year, ABF is very proud to support their charity of choice, Rocky Mountain Adaptive.
If you’re one of the few who can jet off to the mountains Thursday evening, we’ve got a treat for you. Thursday is locals night, meaning you can attend the festival for only $19.99 if you buy your tickets ahead of time! This event sells out every year, so ABF has designated a night to people who like to call Banff their home-away-from-home, so that you too can enjoy the boozy goodness of this festival.
Working that Monday-Friday job life? No worries, this festival runs for three days from November 21-23 with two separate sessions on Saturday, so there is plenty of time for you to kick back and sample beers while breathing in that fresh mountain air until your heart’s content. More information on dates and times of this festival can be found on the Alberta Beer Festivals website.
