A date doesn’t have to involve a fancy restaurant to be special, and romantic. Some of the best dates I’ve ever had have been grabbing a bite to eat from a street vendor, and siting on the curb to chat with my date. We all know street meat can be a little sketchy – so in comes, food trucks! Food trucks are basically restaurants on wheels. They serve the same quality (and in some cases, better) as sit down restaurants do, and they offer a more casual setting for a date

The yummi yogis are bringing healthy back. Their menu is focused on local, organic, healthy and of course, delicious items. I recommend trying their taco salad, made with a walnut mince instead of ground beef. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free friendly.
If you haven’t yet jumped on the fried chicken and waffles food trend, you are truly missing out. The Chix & Waffles food truck is bringing soul food of the South to the streets of Calgary. Try out the classic southern fried chicken on a Belgium waffle with white gray and waffle syrup, or treat yourself and try the fried chicken poutine.
The best new food truck to hit the streets of Calgary, Taiko Taco, is a mobile pan-Asian taqueria. Their pork tacos, made with 72-hour sous vide pork belly, are a must-try. And don’t worry vegans and vegetarians, they’ve got you covered with eggplant tacos.
We’ve come to know and love Fiasco gelato, and now, you are coming straight to you on the streets of Calgary. With gelato flavors like dark chocolate caramel sea salt, birthday cake, Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla, and lavender lemonade, what’s not to love?
The naaco truck is combining traditional Indian, East African and Mexican food to create a taco style dish loaded with tons of fresh and flavorful ingredients. In addition to great food, they are all about supporting organic, local and sustainable operations wherever possible.
Healthy and pizza are not usually words we’d associate with one another, but Avatara pizza is dedicated to changing that. They are serving up gourmet fire-roasted healthy pizzas on the streets of Calgary. You can choose from bold flavors like butter chicken or Thai red curry, or stick to classic peperoni and mushroom. They cater to all needs including vegans, vegetarians, gluten free, and lactose intolerant.
