Whether you’re looking for fresh seasonal produce or a fun event, we’ve curated a list of our favourite farms to visit this season.

1. The Log Farm

Located just a 20-minute drive southwest of downtown Ottawa (in Nepean), The Log Farm is a charming heritage farmstead that delivers all the fun autumn feels. Throughout September and October, the farm transforms into a seasonal playground with wagon rides through colourful trees, a three-acre corn maze, pumpkins (both in the patch and pre-picked), playful scarecrow lanes, and plenty of cozy spots for picnic moments.

Hours: Thursdays-Sundays & Holiday Mondays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: 670 Cedarview Road, Nepean, Ontario

2. Millers Farm and Market

Millers Farm & Market is a family-run farm that blooms with seasonal magic all through the year. During the fall, the farm transforms into a colourful wonderland with a pumpkin patch, wagon rides, pick-your-own squash and gourds, plus crisp apples and harvest vegetables fresh from the field. Their market shed is stocked with baked goods, preserves, pies, local honey and maple syrup, making it easy to grab a snack or a cozy treat.

Hours: Open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

3. Saunders Farm

Saunders Farm is a family-run, 100-acre rural destination in Munster (about 30–35 minutes from downtown Ottawa) that thrives on seasonal fun! During fall you’ll find themed events like PumpkinFest and FrightFest, complete with hedge mazes, haunted hayrides, a zipline attraction, autumn treats, and seasonal photo ops. The farm also features MacIntosh’s CiderHouse where you can enjoy wood-fired pizza and freshly pressed cider, a farm shop with homemade goodies, and sprawling grounds perfect for cozy strolls, picnic moments, and just soaking up that crisp fall air.

Hours: FrightFest is open Fridays & Saturday nights starting on September 20 to November 1 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. & every week during “Halloweek” (October 22 to November 1), PumpkinFest is open on weekends starting September 20 to November 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

4. Mountain Orchards

Mountain Orchards is a charming orchard located about an hour’s drive from downtown Ottawa. During the fall season they offer “pick-your-own” apples (with many varieties like McIntosh, Honeycrisp, Cortland, etc.) plus classic autumn activities including a corn maze, wagon rides, hay jump, playgrounds, and forest walking trails. On weekends, their bakery and farm market offer baked goods, their famous cider doughnuts, and local produce.

Hours: Weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (doughnuts and BBQ are not available on Mondays), Weekends & Holiday Mondays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

5. Cannamore Orchard

From apple- and pumpkin-picking to navigating hedge mazes and riding covered wagons, there’s plenty to do at Cannamore Orchard! Located about 35 minutes east of Ottawa in Crysler (North Dundas), you can explore apple- and pumpkin-picking, hedge mazes and wagon rides. Cannamore Orchard also features seasonal treats like apple pies, cider, jams, and baked goodies in their country store. For a spookier twist, their Acres of Terror event is the perfect date idea for fun nighttime thrills. Enjoy haunted wagon rides, fog mazes, and haunting villages!

Hours: Store Hours from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Acres of Terror open select nights starting on September 26 to October 31 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Family Fun Weekends on Saturdays & Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
