The suite comes stocked with thoughtful touches like Malin+Goetz toiletries, a Nespresso machine, complimentary water and snacks, plus an assortment of local mini-bar options, making an overnight stay just as luxe as a day party.
Between the bedrooms lies a grand, open-plan living area featuring couches, a low coffee table, a second TV, and a mid-century-inspired kitchen and dining space. The oversized dining table seats six, and the bar-top area offers a perfect spot for cocktails or a DIY drink station.
For a 30th birthday celebration, this layout made hosting effortless and was the perfect party setting. Guests naturally gravitated to either the living area or the kitchen bar, mingling comfortably while still feeling connected across the suite.

Sliding glass doors open to a 540 sq. ft. terrace with stylish patio furniture, sun loungers, and city views that capture Queen St. W. and the surrounding downtown neighbourhoods.
We spent a good portion of the evening outside before it got chilly, enjoying the crisp October air, setting up a small portable mini golf game, and taking in the twinkling skyline. The terrace is perfect for capturing Insta-worthy shots and the indoor-outdoor flow makes the suite feel like a private penthouse.

True to the Drake Hotel’s reputation as a cultural hub, the suite and hotel are brimming with curated art, cool furniture, and eclectic design details. From the mirrored surfaces and textured walls to pops of colour and mid-century accents, the entire space feels like a gallery you can live in.
During our party, we kept additional decor minimal, just a few shimmer accents, letting the suite’s design shine while still creating a celebratory vibe.

For our celebration, we curated a mix of catering from the Drake’s menu, highlighting elevated Drake Dogs with pickled jalapeños, queso, and cotija cheese, and local favourites like Pizzeria Badiali and Rosie’s Burgers.
The kitchen, bar top, and oversized dining table made serving and mingling effortless, allowing the party to feel relaxed and stylish, just like a house party, but with far less cleanup and way more ambiance.

While the Rooftop Terrace Suite can function as a self-contained venue, the Drake Hotel itself offers a suite of entertainment options.
Guests can check out the Sky Yard Rooftop restaurant and bar, the Drake Underground music venue, or even a quirky hidden photo booth behind the check-in desk for retro strip photos.
