Toronto’s most iconic literary lounge is giving couples a new reason to plan daytime dates. Fresh off earning a 2026 Best Hotels in Canada Gold Badge from U.S. News & World Report, the Park Hyatt Toronto has introduced two new daytime culinary experiences inside its renowned Writers Room Bar.
Known for its skyline views and literary legacy, the rooftop lounge is now offering an Afternoon Tea service and a Champagne & Caviar Ritual, bringing a refined twist to daytime dining in Yorkville.
For anyone looking to swap the typical coffee date for something a little more memorable, these new experiences might be one of the city’s most elegant ways to spend an afternoon.
Afternoon Tea arrives at the Writers Room
The first new offering is a classic Afternoon Tea experience priced at $65 per person, designed to turn a regular afternoon into a relaxed but elegant outing.
Guests are welcomed with a warm towel service before settling in for loose-leaf Sloane tea, accompanied by a curated selection of sweet and savoury bites.
The menu includes a starter layer of some savoury snacks like Cucumber Rosette with labneh, pickled onion, and mint; a savoury Sausage Roll with fennel, brown sauce, and thyme; and a Smoked Salmon Eclair with cream cheese, dill, and lemon.
The next layer is a duo of scones, in a Buttermilk flavour and a Zucchini Feta one.
Then, the dessert layer offers a Black Sesame Parfait with matcha, white chocolate, and yuzu; a Bailey’s Cheesecake made with homemade graham, espresso, cocoa nibs; and a Pecan Tartelette maple, caramel, and pear.

The experience is $290 for two guests and includes a 750ml bottle of Moët & Chandon Champagne, 30 grams of Black & Gold caviar, and traditional Caviar accompaniments including blinis and crème fraîche.
For those looking to splurge, the Signature Champagne & Caviar Ritual ($690 for two) upgrades the champagne to Dom Pérignon, creating an even more indulgent experience.
