Father’s Day gifts are great, but experiences tend to be the ones that actually get remembered. This year, the days leading up to Father’s Day (June 18 & 19) welcomes dads, stepdads, grandpas, uncles, and father figures to trade the usual golf outing or barbecue for something a little different: learning how to confidently style their child’s hair.
Called Dads & Dos, this hands-on workshop is happening at Adventure Alley and is designed to help dads master practical everyday hair skills while spending quality time with their families.
Whether you’re still figuring out how to survive a ponytail or you’re ready to level up into braids and buns, the workshop is designed to be beginner-friendly, approachable, and surprisingly fun.
What is Dads & Dos?
Hosted by Chroma Hair Shop owner Giada Cavuto alongside Adventure Alley co-founder Sebastian Kennedy, and It’s Date Night co-founder Josh Seaton, the event focuses on teaching real-world hair styling techniques that parents can actually use at home.
Participants will learn:
- Ponytails
- Buns
- Basic braids
- Detangling techniques
- Everyday styling tips
- Hair care basics for different hair textures
Giada will walk you through common hair challenges families face while sharing practical techniques that can make morning routines smoother and less stressful.

A Father’s Day Experience That’s Actually Interactive
Unlike many Father’s Day events that revolve around sitting and watching, Dads & Dos is completely hands-on.
Participants will practice on mannequin heads using professional styling tools while receiving guidance throughout the workshop.
And while the adults are learning, children can enjoy Adventure Alley.
Each ticket includes admission for one age-eligible child, with supervised play available for children ages five and up during the workshop.
Snacks, Drinks, and Family Fun Included
The 90-minute experience also includes popcorn, pretzels, and hospitality beverages courtesy of Steadfast Brewing Company.
It’s designed to feel more like a relaxed family night out than a formal class, creating an opportunity for dads and kids to build new skills and make memories together.

Why We Love It
Let’s be honest: hair styling is one of those parenting skills that many dads never get taught.
Dads & Dos turns that learning curve into a fun, low-pressure experience while giving families a chance to spend quality time together. Plus, if this means fewer rushed ponytails before school and more confidence during busy mornings, that’s a Father’s Day win for everyone involved.
