The Bentway’s much-anticipated Block Party is back and even better than ever this Sunday, August 13, 2023.
It’s going to be a jam-packed celebratory outdoor party filled with live music, performances, family-friendly activities, art workshops, street food, a Bentway Bar with local brews and bevvies, and more! The free event will run from noon to 9 p.m. at The Bentway, 250 Fort York Blvd in Toronto.
MUSIC
Headlining this year’s Block Party is:
- Brooklyn-based musician BAYLI who are fresh off an appearance at Coachella,
- Toronto DJ duo TUSH, known for pushing the boundaries on disco and house music, will bring their energetic live show to the main stage, as will as
- Genre-hopping local DJ Sofia Fly, a mainstay of queer dance floors in the city.
Throughout the afternoon, a line-up of local DJs curated by ISO Radio will be playing featuring Jelz, Beat Sampras, and dj miss. You can also catch roving performances by Toronto’s own afro-Brazilian percussion and song troupe Maracatu Mar Aberto and dance collective T.O. Waacking.
ART
New this year, Block Party visitors can check out an artist’s market by Toronto Art Crawl – bringing over 80 local artists and artisans selling photography, sculptures, jewellery, fashion, home decor, and one-of-a-kind items to The Bentway Skate Trail.
All-ages are invited to create pom poms with artist Jillian Jerat, culminating in a community cheer workshop and performance led by PCT Cheer & Tumble
Art from The Bentway’s Beyond Concrete summer season is also on display throughout the whole site.
