  • Rip Tips Appetizer

The Lancaster Smokehouse

Okay, we know this is a LITTLE bit outside of the GTA but we can’t help it – it’s worth the drive and when you get a bite of that brisket you’ll understand why. Not only are their meats perfect and tender, but their sides are so good you’re physically impossible to decide between the beans, mac and cheese, coleslaw, and curly fries.

If your face and hands don’t get messy while eating BBQ, you’re doing it all wrong. Just make sure your date is worthy of seeing you get a little saucy.

Where to find them: 574 Lancaster St. W., Kitchener

Beach Hill Smokehouse

You’ll find authentic Texas BBQ at this spot, and they’re passionate about what the Texas food scene is all about! “That may sound bias, but more than 1/2 of the top Barbecue restaurants in the world that serve smoked meats come from simple butcher shops in Central Texas. Central Texas style barbecue focuses on high quality meats rubbed with spices and cooked over indirect heat with pecan or oak wood.”

Expect some high quality BBQ and Southern hospitality when you head to your Beach Hill date.

Where to find them: The three locations around Toronto include 172 Main Street., 429 Danforth Ave., and 2190C Bloor Street W.

Earlscourt is serving up great BBQ with craft beer on St. Clair West. They bring slow-cooked barbecue to the Little Italy area, working with local, seasonal and ethically-sourced ingredients. You and your date will enjoy the best selection of craft beer in the area, which we heard is the perfect thing to wash down their tasty platters and meals.

Where to find them: 1278 Saint Clair Ave W. Lower Level, Toronto

Consistently rated highly by local foodies and BBQ lists, this spot puts Ontario on the map for BBQ by combining traditional flavours and styles with locally-sourced Ontario sugar maple wood. A Canadian twist on delicious BBQ date nights!
