This summer, datenight embarked on their inaugural Awards, recognizing the best of the best in our city (and cities across Canada). datenight awards was created to provide our community a thoughtful guide of the best date ideas based on your input and our Committee’s expertise.
Over the summer, date night lovers of all kinds could submit their nominations for their favourite spots around the city in six chosen categories including Dinner Date, Brunch Date, Coffee Date, Cocktail Date, Brewery Date, and Dessert Date.
Can we get a drum roll? Because we have the first official list of winners for the top coffee dates in Vancouver of 2024. Keep reading to see your picks!
JJ Bean
A favourite spot for both tourists and Vancouverites, this is JJ Bean’s first café, opened along with the Powell roastery in 1996. This spot is guaranteed to get you caffeinated since it’s all about espresso, coffee and the whole bean you crave.

Kits Beach Coffee
All about beach culture, community and coffee, this unique space makes a perfect spot for a coffee/beach date since as the name suggests, it’s right next to Kitsilano Beach.

Nemesis Coffee
Not only does Nemesis have some of the best coffee in Vancouver, but the food and pastries are excellent and they’re known to have some of the friendliest staff. An overall great spot for a date, or even for remote work as they have plenty of seating.

Sabà Cafe
With a rotating menu, seasonal salads, pastas, affogatos and a delightful spread of baked goods, there’s a little something for everyone. This spot is uniquely set in their secret courtyard, a portal through which you might experience a warm afternoon in a small Italian piazza.

The Grit
At GRIT studio, you can go for the classics like lattes, americanos, or caramel macchiatos, but they also have unique creations if you want to try something new.

D’oro Gelato
Serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, dessert and more from French/italian pastries baked fresh in-house every morning to crisp green salads and more.

Cowdog Coffee
The perfect spot to slow down, cowdog coffee is no exception to the limited menu concept. Their features are definitely tea lattes: matcha, hojicha and their most popular one, the photogenic strawberry matcha. They also do pourover, batch brewed coffee, and espresso. Typically there’s a seasonal special as well.

Breka
The only spot on this list that’s open 24/7, but also has an amazing selection of coffees, pastries, sandwiches and cakes, Breka is a staple amongst Vancouverites.

Caffe Mira
Caffe Mira takes you on a caffeinated adventure with their freshly brewed coffee and other beverages. If you’re looking to grab a bite to eat, they have sandwiches as well like the Rustico Special Panini, the Roasted Veggie Panini, and more.

Deville Coffee
Brewing only direct trade coffee beans, their lattes and espresso drinks have been carefully crafted by hand since day one, with special ingredients like organic vanilla, and house-made chocolate ganache.
