Earth Day is just around the corner, I’m super excited to share some awesome ways we can celebrate and give back to our planet right here in Edmonton. Grab your reusable water bottle and let’s get into some eco-friendly fun!
1. Get Hands-On for Earth Day
Join researchers from the University of Alberta and get hands-on for Earth Day! Head to the Strathcona Edmonton Public library branch and explore where plants grow best, how to clean up water, ways to help the Earth, and so much more! Drop-in on April 20th 2024 anytime between 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m and join in the activities presented by scientists from Future Energy Systems!

2. 2024 Earth Day Free Earth Day Film Screening
River is a profound cinematic and musical reflection on how rivers have shaped both the planet’s elaborate landscapes and all human existence. On Sunday, April 21, 2024 from 2–4pm you can bring the fam for a free film screening and panel discussion to celebrate Earth Day 2024. Watch the official trailer on YouTube.

3. Lush Earth Day bath BOMB event
Bring your green thumb to Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics in West Edmonton Mall for family friendly bath bomb pressing. There will be games and green activities on Monday April 22, 2024 from 4pm-6pm! See or call shop for details. (780-444-1789)

4. The Birds & The Bees
Celebrate Earth day at West Edmonton Mall on Saturday April 20th, 2024 and learn about some of the earth’s most interesting creatures! Family friendly activities will include:
11am -1pm Beaverhill Bird Observatory – Birds of Prey Demonstration/Meet & Greet @ Phase IV Stage. 11:30am – 12:30pm -Marine Life – Photoshoot with the WEM penguins @ Marine Life
2pm – 4pm – What’s the Buzz Information Kiosk – with a WEM beekeeper @ Phase IV Stage
5. Earth Day Community Clean Up
On Saturday April 20th, 2024 from 9am – 3pm, head to Currents of Windermere for the Earth Day Community Clean Up hosted in the parking lot of Wine & Beyond.
Be among the first 100 guests to snag a FREE tree seedling and support sustainability! Goodwill Industries of Alberta will be there to accept your gently used household items, empowering Albertans with disabilities through job opportunities. City disposal bins will be on hand for responsible waste disposal. And, don’t forget to enter for a chance to win prizes and goodies from Currents of Windermere and partner retailers!
