Floating into Summer

The countdown to May Long is on

We’re on the home stretch to summer; the sky is staying light, the patios beers have made an appearance and we’re starting to look ahead to next month when we can officially start wearing shorts and flip flops all the time.

The milestone marking the summer season is May Long, a day that is just around the corner. Have you made plans yet? Don’t worry, we’ve gotchu. There is plenty to do around the city if you’re not off on a camping road trip with your fam. If you’re looking for something fun and different, we’re thinking floating down the Bow River with the Paddle Station. You can spend an afternoon or full day enjoying the sunshine and fresh air with your friends, fam and fellow Calgarians.

Sounds great, but its such a hassle to get everything organized to float, right? Wrong. That’s where the Paddle Station comes in to make sure your experience is stress and hassle free. You don’t have to worry about renting, transporting, and launching your vessel to enjoy the Bow. All you have to do is book your ride online and arrive at the location on time.

You will get to sit back and relax as you explore our beautiful city from a different perspective. The water flows at a calm pace so you don’t have to worry about any rapids or getting flipped over – unless it’s by your friends 😉 They’re located at Shouldice park and St. Patrick’s Island, making the trip long enough to get the full experience but not too long where you become bored. Once you’ve done your float, you’ll get off the river at St. Patrick’s Island and then you’re done! You don’t have to drag your raft back to your car and deflate it; the Paddle Station takes care of all that. Plus, they’ll set you up with Uber to get you back to your car.

Whether you are looking to simply float and relax or actively explore the beauty of the inner city, they bring the great outdoors to you. They offer more than just rafting, they also have kayaking and stand up paddle boards for rent.

The Paddle Station is in our Summer Passport – make sure to grab yours to get a discount on your ride. Check out their website for more information and to reserve your May Long raft ride!
