Well, it’s always awkward when Halloween always falls right in the middle of the week. Which weekend do you choose to celebrate on?? Judging on our Instagram feed, lots of you decided to celebrate this past weekend. Don’t let those costumes go to waste after just one wear this year. Check out one, or ALL, of these Halloween parties happening right here in YYC on true Halloween. This Wednesday, October 31, our city is full of spooky, scary situations that are just the perfect opportunity to give your unicorn costume one last go ‘round.

Haunted Calgary- Halloween Attraction 2018

Head up to Rocky Ridge to check out Calgary’s largest haunted yard attraction this year. Haunted Calgary is home to more than 30 ghoulish inhabitants who are ready to send chills up your shivering spine…. and then back down again! There is a low-scare event in the afternoon for the young ones or those who are faint of heart. However, if you think you can handle the big guns, come back from 6-10pm when there will be a full-blown haunted house ready to spook even the bravest of victims.

When: October 31 @ 2-4pm (low-scare) & 6-10pm (major-scare)

Screamfest 

Prepare to have the unicorn glitter scared right out of you at this terrifying setup. Running every evening at the Stampede Grounds until the 31st, Screamfest aims to really, REALLY scare adults. Plus, this is the 13th and final year of Screamfest forever, so if you’re looking for a good scare, this might be your last chance!

When: October 29, 30, 31 @ 7pm-12am

Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre: I Know What You Did Last Halloween

Enjoy a different take on Halloween as you enjoy dinner, drinks and a few laughs while you try tirelessly to figure out whodunnit! This interactive show will keep you guessing and giggling until the very end with their crew of talented actors. The night shall follow like so:

6:00pm: Enjoy drinks as the doors open.

6:30pm: Receive clues to the mystery from various actors.

7:00pm: Dinner and the show begins.

9:00pm: Attempt to solve the mystery and watch it unfold while you devour dessert.

When: October 31 @ 6:30-10pm

Creepy Storytime at the Zoo

Perhaps all your babysitters are busy on Halloween. Have no fear, Date Night can still happen, or maybe we should say ‘Date Day.’ Every Wednesday in October, the Calgary Public Library puts on story time to educate the little ones about nature and animals. Lucky for you, Halloween falls on a Wednesday this year and the topic is: Creepy Crawlies. Half an hour of interactive storytelling, activities and biofacts will keep the kiddos entertained PLUS this event includes free admission to the zoo! Start your Halloween earlier in the day this year to learn all about those creepy crawlies with the family.

When: October 31 @ 10:30-11am
