We hear it every year, the daunting ‘winter is coming’ – and there’s nothing we can do about it. For some people, it’s all about hitting slopes on their skiis or snowboards, but for others who want something a little closer to the city, keeping that motivation through the winter to stay active can be hard to do.
Until now.
We compiled a list of indoor playgrounds and physical activities for you to have fun while staying warm indoors on winter date nights or family nights!
Flying Squirrel
No, this isn’t a squirrel sanctuary; it’s actually a trampoline park. They have four Olympic-sized trampolines for you to jump on. Of course there are different activities here, too, like an arcade, slackline, and a stunt jump airbag.
It’s the best place to feel like you’re Michael Jordan doing a game-winning dunk.

House of Skate
Instead of ice skating this winter, try roller skating. We can’t guarantee it’s easier, but they do have adult classes you can take. They even have memberships for you to save more while skating all year long. If you’re looking for a special date, go during one of their events where it’s themed and groovy.

Go Go Golf
Tee time on the green? In November? Unheard of, but not at Go Go Golf. They’re a virtual indoor golf simulator company. With six premium golf simulators featuring video swing analysis and over 150 world-class gold courses. You can even enjoy a cold one while trying to get a hole in one. While they provide complimentary club rental, you do have to book in advance.

Beach YYC
Now we always want to be on the beach, and Beach YYC does that… kinda. They have an indoor sanded area where you can play volleyball, soccer, and ultimate frisbee. You can also join a league for our competitors out there. It’s the best way to hone your playing skills and possibly meet a beach babe.

Calgary Climbing Centre
Ever wanted to try bouldering? With Calgary Climbing Center, you can, at one of their five locations across Calgary! They have different programs for newbies or experts to practice. You’ll for sure have some fun, but also for sure feel it the next day on your fingers and arms.
