As the snow continues to fall across the city, retreating indoors where it’s warm, cozy, and thoughtfully designed feels even better. Winter has a way of inviting us to slow down, unwind, and indulge in a little extra comfort. Thankfully, at the Kimpton Saint George, Toronto’s beloved boutique hotel, that cozy escape becomes a reality.
Located in the heart of the Bloor–Yorkville neighbourhood and bordering The Annex, the Kimpton Saint George feels like a true home-away-from-home staycation. It’s the kind of place where you can lean fully into hibernation mode, or bundle up and explore some of Toronto’s best museums, restaurants, shops, and cafés just steps away.
the perfect winter stay
From the moment you walk into the lobby, you’re greeted with warm textures, local artwork, and inviting communal spaces that encourage you to linger.
A few winter-specific touches make staying here during the colder months especially special include:
Books for a Better Tomorrow: A curated collection of books available for purchase in the lobby, with a portion of proceeds supporting Toronto Foundation for Student Success, a thoughtful way to browse, unwind, and give back.
Hot Chocolate Station: Complete with marshmallows and chocolate wafers, perfect for warming up after a brisk winter walk.
Social Hour (5–6 PM): Each evening, hotel guests can gather in the living room to sip on complimentary wine by the fireplace; an effortlessly cozy way to kick off date night.
Unbeatable Location: Walkable to Yorkville, The Annex, museums, restaurants, cafés, and shopping or simply stay in and enjoy everything under one roof.

an anniversary staycation right in our own city
We stayed at Kimpton Saint George for an anniversary weekend staycation, a reminder that even when you live in Toronto, booking a hotel just outside your own front door can completely change the way you experience the city.
We checked into a comfortable king guest room where the bed is adorned in luxurious Frette sheets, slipped into the plush Kimpton robes, and leaned fully into relaxation mode with eye masks and skincare before getting ready for their intimate anniversary dinner. Getting ready was so easy to do in their stunning bathroom that includes a walk-in shower and Atelier Bloem by Malin+Goetz amenities.

The best part? Dinner was hosted inside the hotel at The Fortunate Fox, meaning no coats, no Uber, and no braving the cold which is a major win during Toronto winters.
After dinner, it was straight back upstairs to get cozy for the night, followed by a slow, indulgent morning complete with an amazing room service breakfast spread, the kind that makes you linger in bed just a little longer.

dining at the fortunate fox
Having an on-site restaurant is always a bonus, but during winter, it’s a game changer.
The Fortunate Fox, located inside Kimpton Saint George, makes date night effortless whether you’re celebrating something special or simply craving a cozy dinner without leaving the building.
It’s the kind of convenience that turns a one-night stay into a full experience, especially when the weather outside makes staying in feel like the right choice.
We started with an order of Fried Calamari and the Smoked Paprika Hummus that’s served with fresh bread, crispy chickpeas, and pickled cabbage. For our mains, we indulged in the Wagyu Skirt Steak & Chips that’s served up with their house chimichurri, fries, and house salad; as well as the PEI Mussels.
From relaxing in the living room surrounded by local art to borrowing a bike in warmer months and exploring the streets, the hotel is all about encouraging discovery of authentic Toronto.
